Do you need a sd card to play games on it? Or you need one right from the start

You only need a micro SD card if you want more storage.

Well, Idk exactly. But if you buy a strong micro SD such as 128 or 512 GB you'll be okay

If u mean that you need a micro SD card to play a game, then no you don’t. There already is internal storage and the save files don’t save on the game cartridge but instead on the device.
