Repairing a Nintendo switch lite, the screen would not show an image but you could hear sound and the touch screen would work. I actually found the ribbon cable on amazon for less than $9
I had the same exact problem after installing some replacement joy sticks, the screen worked fine beforehand. I didn't even need to use the isopropyl to clean the cable. I just unplugged the screen flex cable and plugged it back in a couple times and that did the trick.
Hello. My son switch lite has a black screen but does have sound. Nintendo wants $110 to fix it since it’s not under warranty. Are you able to try to fix it for payment?
@@lvhk135 This did work for me. I was trying to fix a Switch Lite for a friend's son after he slammed it down on the table from getting upset. It had sound, but no display. Doing what he did in this video fixed it.
@@mattr1554 When you say you did what he did do you mean that you cleaned the connector for the screen and plugged the cable back in and it worked? I am trying to repair a switch lite that was damaged in a similar way
A customer came to me with this same issue I'm 6:36 in. Idk if ill have to replace the display Update ill try cleaning the display ribbon cable before I attempt to replace display hopefully that works🙏
@@timothygarcia7238 What? So you're trying to say that an issue with the DIGITIZER prevents the screen from displaying anything? Are you talking about the Switch Lite or the regular one?
So was it the ribbon cable that was mangled or dirty contacts? I'm having the same problem. With my sons, that River of yours that was mangled on his it has a spot where it's been pinched from where he dropped it I'm wondering if the ribbons bad but I can't figure out if that ribbon controls the display or not
I believe the mangled ribbon cable is for the other side of the board, the controls and power switch, I dont think it does anything with the screen. I think it was the dirty contacts for the screen that fixed mine. The cable was purchased from here www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088QTSCW2/
@@boredandrestored1327 thank you very much! I've been trying to figure out what that ribbon controls to no avail. Probably replace it anyways as well as clean the contacts.
Well I got in the ribbon from amazon, and cleaned the contacts but it still doesn't work. I'm having all the sounds but the display is still black. It all started when I decided to replace a damaged joystick, done everything perfectly it went very smooth but for whatever reason the screen stayed black after that. My son said it done that occasionally in the past the screen would go black and he would have to let it sit for a day or two and then it would start working again. We're just going to give up and wait till we get some money saved up I'm going to buy him another one.
@@dinkbuster1 Yeah that's a hard one to diagnose, was it something you did or was it a problem that has been going on for a while. Seems strange it worked after sitting though.
If it's from a normal store, almost no chance it will be broken. And if so, just go back and return it to get a new one. Online stores are good too, they just get damaged during shipping. But they let you return as well. This video was a ebay listing that said it was broken so I knew it had problems. Normally they work pretty well and dont break often. Nintendo also gives you a 12 month warranty if something breaks, so there should be no worry.
If you google "nintendo switch blue screen", you can find a few articles that have a few things to try (restart the device, or hold the power button for 12 seconds, or let it drain the battery until it dies), one of those might fix it.
