Correct way to desolder it is by applying heat under the board at 450c and same procedure to solder new piece. Any plastic component is done under the board
Hello, may I ask the temperature and speed of the heat gun you used for desoldering? Any pre-heating you done on the board? As I can't get the components off the board, it's quite frustrating. I also tried desoldering on this connector, which also failed. Thank you.
I recommend 380-390c from underneath the board. When removing the original connector, adding leaded solder to the top portion first can help quite a bit. I don't worry about damaging the original if I am replacing it so I drown it in solder. Cheers
