I finally was able to snatch up the red N3DSXL before the pandemic started and price inflation. Paid $70 at a local pawn shop. The thing looked immaculate. I got it mainly to play A Link Between Worlds and New Super Mario Bros 1+2. Thoroughly enjoying ALBW at the moment. I’ll pick up some other heavy hitters later down the line. I was looking for this box for a very long time. Glad I was able to find one for a good deal. This system will be adored for the longest time.
It was nice to see the full DS family unboxed. 2004-2020. It seemed to be like the longest handled family to last very long up until the new 2ds xl (Edit) I got a new 3DS XL with galaxy theme for Christmas 2019 😂 however I been having the original 3DS XL since early 2013! I just transfer my data to the new one
Yes! I remember watching your videos on this topic around 2015/2016 and you were spot-on about these two systems. As an aside, Nintendo not releasing the smaller model with collectable faceplates at first in their strongest territory (certainly their strongest Western territory) was such a bizarre decision, especially in hindsight. I'm sure it annoyed more than a few people.
Nintendo released at least three versions of the basic New 3DS in the US then. Your Animal Crossing model, there was a Super Mario themed black model that "launched" it and a 20th anniversary Pokemon red and blue with specially themed faceplates.
Great video! Nintendo did actually release a few faceplate designs in the states. They were only available from the Nintendo website though (like the Gameboy Micro wireless adapter and 3DS XL docks).
Boy, you've been busy, Bob, since I last checked ;) . By the way, Happy New Year to the World of Nintendo!!! Amazing job for the last year and incredibly timed comeback )) Good luck in 2021, Bob!
I prefer the standard size form factor to the XL, and I remember that giddy feeling when Nintendo finally released the non-XL N3DS stateside in black (the Mario Bros. set was not easy to get hold of!) They did sell some face plates, but only through store.nintendo.com as far as I know. They actually still have two sets still available, both Animal Crossing. I found it more fun to buy some third-party blank plates and customize them myself. This model is my preferred hardware, but it's hard to go wrong with the 3DS line.
Dude I just bought a used new 3ds small animal crossing one that’s in the video. The battery is faulty! I checked to find one on the Nintendo website, and… they don’t sell it anymore!! I can’t find a replacement battery anywhere that is Nintendo made!!! 😭 any idea how I can get one?
I bought it when it first came out. What I unboxed here was repackaged just for the video. Here's the original video from 2015: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Hddez2o8-Qk.html
How dare my job schedule me to work when Bob uploads 💪😤✨ I'm ten hours late and I can't believe I was forced to disrespect the world of Nintendo in this way 😔
@@yauy it's true, work is a dignifying and valuable thing. I love my job, but do I love it as much as Nintendo unboxings? 🤔 I'm always happy to see your videos in my feed, thanks for all the gladness you bring to the world!
The only place you could really buy them new anymore I think is eBay. These aren't new, though. I bought them when they were new and repackaged them to make the video.
