@@dxl___ if you mod your Wii, you can get custom themes if you know what you're doing, one of the most popular being a dark theme. be careful if you do, because if it corrupts the menu, your Wii is fucked unless you have a backup on bootmii.
This is why I love anti-piracy screens that actually try to be realistic. Not one of those that try way too hard to be scary with the characters with black eyes and blood/gore. Realistic ones are more unnerving and effective at causing discomfort. Good job.
Translation for the final call voice: "Nintendo wii can't connect to the Nintendo anti-piracy hotline. This might be because this program is in development."
I love how this one has bugs, like it said it would! Specifically, some text is displayed in Japanese when the user has selected English as their preferred language. This just makes this seem a lot more genuine! By the way, your content is very believable and well-done. Keep up the great work!
1:04 My only critique is there should be a “refresh” button in case someone doesn’t have Luigi’s Mansion or Mario Kart Wii. This is one of the best anti-piracy screens I’ve seen though
Personal Thoughts The console wouldn't just randomly shut off, there would likely be a check in place for the next time the wii menu tries to start. Mentions of Anti-Piracy would be replaced with something like Software Authenticity Checker version number wouldn't be 1.0 or even there in the first place if the software is presumably unfinished, not to mention it would likely be in the corner and faded, and be a build number instead, showing the date of creation. power button would likely be a small information button mentioning how to turn off the console (press and hold power) and some vague explanation for the check Pal Wii consoles do not support Japanese as an option for language. the Japanese text would merely be a remnant of development and not an option. Dark mode wouldn't be a thing period Some fonts aren't normally seen anywhere else on the wii if im not mistaken, pretty close though! No mention of the software being unfinished would be *anywhere* cursor is not tilting, and is way too small. The sound from the Wii Menu for leaving a channel preview wouldn't be used here Personalization explanation would simply be 'Chose your language' in the different languages offered Check button would be on the right 'Please Reinsert the disc' would probably be changed to 'Please insert the disc' to be concise The option to check the hardware or firmware wouldn't be there as both checks would be necessary and be done regardless, not to mention giving the user the option would ruin some of the purpose behind the software, so its likely the screens associated would be removed :/ for the restart message fade out would not occur, and it would stay the same theme Health and safety message would not be shown again piracy is a crime message would not be typed out in this way but would be shown in its entirety. It would not ask you to shutdown your console or have a countdown (in a generic font mind you) instead it would tell you how to shut off your console properly (press and hold the power button for 4 seconds) power button in corner would not exist sounds would not be there background would be faded a bit to make text more clear wheres the microphone lol funny idea to have it 'call nintendo' though try new rodin instead of a generic serif font if you can't figure out what font to use good luck on whatever you do next!
@Lily.finder The pointer went from moving normally to being completely static in rotation, meaning a real remote was used at first. The Wii Speak was a microphone accessory but not many people had one, which would make the call part essentially useless unless someone had it already plugged it and setup and calibrated, and The Wii remote simply doesn't have a microphone. The call relying on internet also follows the circumstance that WiFi is set up in the first place.
@@theseventhgoblin12 yeah but it was actually the planned anti piracy screen of the Wii apparently, thus being removed thanks to the Wii not having a microphone in it's system
@@BigMamaSSBNo, it is very much not real. Also, the Wii does have anti-piracy features, but they primarily just involve things like encrypting the game discs so that only the Wii can read them without assuming they've given up the ghost.
1:38 if this were real, wouldnt they force the person at this screen to do a hardware and firmware check? i have a modded wii with cios and if anyone who also had that did the check, they would just select hardware and get around it. likewise, if you had a modchip, you could just select software.
Just when i think im gonna see something that looks remotely close to official all these videos do is pop up a screen that says "piracy bad" There are some other things in the video which are a bit weird but honestly if you redid the last part of the video to not include your wii magically calling nintendo and mocking you it would be 10x better
Ah yes, because Japanese is totally written as 「日本」。 (It means Japan) Other than that, this was pretty well done other than some things which don’t make sense like the Wii somehow being able to call the authorities
1:38 Translation: How would you like to perform the system check? There are several ways to check if the system is configured. The first method of shutdown is firmware. If there is a defect in the firmware, it is physical. The same applies to hardware as well.
WTF When I was like 7 I a had this really weird and vivid dream that my wii was having some weird issues after homebrewing it, and I remember being stuck in a menu that looked eerily similar to this. Nice creation !
According to all known laws of aviation, there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Yellow, black. Ooh, black and yellow! Let's shake it up a little. Barry! Breakfast is ready! Ooming! Hang on a second. Hello? - Barry? - Adam? - Oan you believe this is happening? - I can't. I'll pick you up. Looking sharp. Use the stairs. Your father paid good money for those. Sorry. I'm excited. Here's the graduate. We're very proud of you, son. A perfect report card, all B's. Very proud. Ma! I got a thing going here. - You got lint on your fuzz. - Ow! That's me! - Wave to us! We'll be in row 118,000. - Bye! Barry, I told you, stop flying in the house! - Hey, Adam. - Hey, Barry. - Is that fuzz gel? - A little. Special day, graduation. Never thought I'd make it. Three days grade school, three days high school. Those were awkward. Three days college. I'm glad I took a day and hitchhiked around the hive. You did come back different. - Hi, Barry. - Artie, growing a mustache? Looks good. - Hear about Frankie? - Yeah. - You going to the funeral? - No, I'm not going. Everybody knows, sting someone, you die. Don't waste it on a squirrel. Such a hothead. I guess he could have just gotten out of the way. I love this incorporating an amusement park into our day. That's why we don't need vacations. Boy, quite a bit of pomp... under the circumstances. - Well, Adam, today we are men. - We are! - Bee-men. - Amen! Hallelujah! Students, faculty, distinguished bees, please welcome Dean Buzzwell. Welcome, New Hive Oity graduating class of... ...9:15. That concludes our ceremonies.
this is an extremely minor error, but the version on the piracy screen says it’s a PAL wii, however on the warning screen the warning sign is white, meaning it’s a NTSC wii, PAL wiis have a yellow warning symbol instead, again extremely minor but just wanted to point it out
i like how realistic this one feels compared to other wii priacy screens mainly with the VHS effect, so many digtal VHS effects feel artifical to me, personaly i think the best way to do it is to use a real VCR I don't know if this one uses a VCR or not but it looks realistic
dsi anti piracy you try to go to the camera, but its purple, red, and blue! also, if you take the picture, an error occurs. you should replace that error with anti piracy
that wii cursor is far too small I found this looking for an actual anti-piracy screen that had popped up on my homebrewed wii that was simply a black screen stating "Your wii hardware has been modified. Turn off the console." or something similar. Hope someone posts that someday.
2:31 Nintendo Wii can’t connect to the Nintendo Anti Piracy Hotline. This program may be currently under development. Is this OK……? Sorry for my bad English
