Nintendo Wii/Wii U/ Switch Pro Controller Comparison

Just so you know, the Wii controller is called the "Wii Classic Controller Pro".

I was paying attention to the background

I always found it intriguing how the wii classic controllers all used lowercase letters. It's the only controller I've ever seen that does so

The Wii Classic Pro is easily one of my favorite controllers. I really love the feel of the shell.

In my opinion and many hours of gaming, I personally feel the Wii U pro controller feels the best. It's more full and comfortable and does kinda have that xbox controller feel.

ah, the wii u days, i still have my only pro controller. funny thing is that its battery broke after like, a week. so now it's pretty much a wired controller. at least the cable worked.

"Wii U pro controller" is the only one with the right layout with both analog sticks on top, also the ergonomics feels better in my hands ithan the "Switch pro controller" so I have bought 2 third party controller with the "Wii U Pro" layout for my Switch.

I notice that most people say that the Switch Pro Controller is heavily inspired by, or a downright copy of, the Xbox One Controller. I am well aware, just like everyone else, that the Xbox 360 controller became a standard due to its huge success as the most ergonomic and responsive controller of its generation. That is why I'm sure the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers influenced the design of most modern controllers (not only the Switch Pro Controller, but also the Dualshock 4) as we can clearly see in the generally more robust, ergonomic, minimalistic and curved design all gaming companies have adopted for their controllers. But I actually think the Switch Pro Controller is a modern version or evolution of the Wii Classic Controller Pro (rather than the Wii U Pro Controller), and the asymmetrical sticks (the element most people point out when arguing that this is an Xbox One controller copy) are clearly there because Nintendo had no other choice with the Switch but to adopt this layout, as it allows each Joy Con to be used as an individual controller. The Switch Pro Controller simply mirrors the Joy Cons' button layout. Does anybody else think the same?

I bought the classic controller pro just to play Mario kart Wii I used to use my GameCube controller but I sold that . The classic controller pro feels really nice in the hands and I would definitely recommend it 👌

I bought 2 cheap wii classic controller pro 2 years ago and they work great, I play cod bo1 on wii, super Smash Bros brawl and mario kart Wii online almost every day. (Sorry for my English, I'm not English)

Honestly, right stick position probably doesn't matter since you'll rarely use it with the face buttons at the same time. But, the left stick should always be at the top. It's just more comfortable and feels more natural.

The off set analog sticks was first use on the Nintendo gamecube. So it nothing new from nintendo. Plus the reason why the joy cons are small because the switch needs to be a home and a portable system.

Favourite to least fav: Switch, Wii, and Wii U

I got the pdp wii u pro controller unfortunately it's a later production so no rumble but I guess it has improved triggeres so that's good . It was only 18 at Walmart and so far I'm very happy with it

Nintendo got rid of the analog triggers on the Wii Classic Controller Pro while the Wii Classic Controller had it.. odd. For that reason I prefer the Classic Controller. Having said that, the Switch Pro Controller is an amazing controller.

Wii classic controller pro is an underappreciated controller, seriously I can't even find an adapter specifically to connect that to my switch. if someone has managed to find one please link one to me, however I know of adapters for PC.

When the hori gamecube controllers come out I'll be getting that, if it has joy sticks that click in then it will be my primary controller for any game i play on my switch.

I recently got a knockoff Wii u controller for 50 dollars and the controller layout was the same as the Xbox 360. But the joystick broke. So I can't move in any game. So the only good 3rd party Wii u pro controller is the afterglow

My hands cramp up using the switch pro controller after a few hours. Doesn’t happen with Xbox’s controller. They should just bring back the GameCube style as the main controller

This was more of a comparison to controllers from other brands than to each other. And think the comparison is missing a lot of stuff, because I don't feel one bit informed about those products. For example do they all have the same buttons? Is the button layout the same (apart from the joysticks)? Do they feel different, like does one have rubbery buttons and one have plastic ones, etc. What about extra features? And so on... Also I can't really see the controllers at all in the video because it's a bit blurry - I wish you had included some close-up shots.

The pro controller is great but please do not compare it to the Xbox or PS4 controller. I love my switch pro but it doesn’t have analog triggers, doesn’t have headphone Jack and doesn’t have good rumble. Especially compared to the Xbox elite 2 controller, after that I find it difficult to play switch rumble. In fact I got used to the back buttons on the elite that it’s so difficult to play on other controllers

Many ppl have been praising the Wii U pro controller but I thought it's the worst of the three options.
