NIO 8, Way beyond my payrate 😝 but a really good looking car for its size to be.. Great easy walkthough u had on it, and must admit i had a smile or two on my face when u called yourself a dummy a time or two, i bet I'll be feeling the same when the ES6 are going to be handed over to me in near future.. Hey Eric, there are three ways of openning the Fridge. 1. Nomi. 2. Screen. 3. Press and hold down the button which you used to pull out of the phone charging area on the central console. Also, there are 3 phone charging areas on the central console. the side way area that you tried, in addition to charging phone, it is also designed for NIO phone, you can put the NIO phone there and it will connect to the car wirelessly.

ES8 is good if you have 2 young kids and 2 parents. Great for family outing. Bought one.

If buying the ES8 for a large family, with limited storage space behind the 3rd row, a luggage rack would be needed for vacations.

Great video. I also thought that getting into the back seats was actually not bad at all. The quality issues... apparently it was specifically in Shenzhen. And it's a little disappointing that the quality team didn't check it before they brought the es8 to the showroom... but I don't think that means the es8 has quality issues.

I went to the same Nio house in MixC Qianhai as Marcel did. The second row seat button issue was still there when I visited, but a Nio fellow fixed it in a few minutes and let me know it was misconfigured in the showroom mode settings. I think your take on the third row is more reasonable. I was in the market to replace a 2017 Mercedes GLS, and I rarely if ever use the third row. Most GLS and BMW X7 owners I know use their cars as 4 or 5 seaters, otherwise they would have gone for a MPV like the Alphard or the Denza D9 like you mentioned. As for third row access, I also didn't see much of a problem. I much prefer the executive version as someone who is 6'1", as I found it more difficult to climb through the center aisle with my back bent. I actually sat in the third row for over an hour during the test drive, and it wasn't too bad.

Thanks to Eric for clearing the air about ES8 interior for US investors. Eric got my trust as he isn't trading NIO stock not like Marcel whose views are according to his position.

7 out of 10. NIO really needs to do better if it is really serious in challenging LI Auto. L8 is absolutely fabulous. Just being brutally honest

Panel gaps look pretty uniform throughout, unlike on my Tesla.

It's kinda lame that they make the screen smaller so you can see Nomi. On top of that, no passenger screen.

3:48 I think this goes to show that the operation should be intuitive, and most people would do what you did, hold the button down. I think this lack of making it "idiot proof", could have them lose sales 🤷. They should make it so that a button press or hold operates it. I question why you didn't show yourself getting out of the second row 🤔, looked like your foot would hit the door frame on the way out since you did mention Marcel...

They seem to have a great product, why are they struggling with sales ? Doesn't make sense.

You can see the plastics are made very thin for weight savings. It won’t hold up long term , mark my words.

Sorry I think ES8 is a fail compared to other offerings. NIO's best bet is ET5 TOURING. They also need to give the ET7 a proper American size frunk to offset limited trunk space.
