I only got nioh 2 about 3 days ago and having never played a souls like game before I was kind of intimidated but all your guides and tips have helped me beat the game in 3 days without any previous experience so I want to say thank you and you have made me fall in love with a new genre of games keep up the great work. I hope your channel soon gets the recognition it deserves.
@@mucklow14 it just makes it tougher but the first 2x levels or so don't get much harder, it's only after that. If you have a look at the new game plus guide I did... That might help you get off to a good start.
Thanks for the very useful breakdown. I just hit ng+ the other day and this helps me know what to shoot for. Now to find people to play with and Rev farm
Oh my. I actually found an Enki soul core on lvl 170 a week ago and kept it because it was "useless, but nice to look at"... I completely forgot that you can soul match Yokai weapons with them! Thanks for reminding me of that, time to get a 170 weapon and subscribe for the good tips!
I didn’t even know lvl 170 weapons exist until this video 😂 so thanks for the info. That being said i’m only about halfway through NG+ at the moment. Love the content man, keep up the good work!
"The Refined Man Of The Underworld", farm this mission in NG+ use Cups(Of course), it hardly takes 2 mins to finish them off. I got 2 - 170+4 weapons and 4 armor 170+something pieces from their also got 2 - 170 soul cores in about 1 hour plus hell lot of amrita ad coins. Hope this is helpful to someone :) Happy Grinding. P.S. for 170+4 weapons level up to 300 and otakamaru drops them very often, so you get enough +4 weapons in an hour or less + so many smithing texts
Thanks dude. Yeah I've tried that mission a few times on NG+and with cups, and with level sync. For me the drops have never been as good as when I've played the Eye of the beholder mission - but maybe that's just me. Very good tip about the level 300 though. I'm thinking it might be worth testing again...my last benchmark was at level 225. Maybe I'll do another one to see if lvl has an impact on drops.
I just wait until Way of the Demon then steadily grind the revenants, as those players already drop the plus gear items that are needed, thereby saving a little bit of time and money.
I just finished the game today, had my level 170 (+10) weapon few days ago.... And I have to say your guide and explanation is spot on, very informative and simple and to the point.....had my level 170 from a single drop of a soul core which I don't remember exactly from where... One single drop in my entire 323 hours in this game.
Yeah I really want to find a decent way to get 170 soul cores. I have a suspicion. But I'm going to try proving it if I can and then get another video out.... If I'm right that is. If I'm wrong you'll never hear about it 😂😂
@@Onos yeah, may be it's designed so a player gets one 170 soul core... And if he destroys it by accident, the game will give him another one, basically you only get to have one 170 level weapon, until the dlc that is.
@@drthraxine that would make sense... Only problem is that I found a 170 set of tonfas while doing the grind to make this video.. And I already have a 170 odachi! ... I suspect its just random and based on luck rates etc
nice video dude if u whant to save time for farming otakemaru tho use flying katto build and full shuriken kunai tree with scrolls to be invisible to enemys u can skip almost all mobs and be on final boss in 2-4 mins before enter use some cups to invite a visitor usually are some outside boss door leave visitor to agro boss and nuke him with kunai etc. when u get to it u can clear stage with stealth + boss in around 5-10 mins
Very good video. Have you ever thought of buying weapons/armour from the kodama bazaar. I've bought a lot of 160+5 weapons/armour from the 2nd shrine in the "a strong bond" mission
There is no shrine on the map for ''In the eye of the beholder''. Luck is a big factor but having 2-3 stats for soul core drop helps alot as well. Level sync lowers all your stats so check if it's worth it comparing your drop rates in the map.
Thanks Pierre. Yeah I know about the shrine, that's a shame - no Kodama bonus on those missions! About the level sync - that's why I did my testing, I wanted to see if the longer kill-time was worth it based on what I was getting back!
All five pieces of my armor is +10 and 3 of the 5 pieces are also lvl 170. I have five +10 weapons as well. Currently working on maxing out all weapon proficiency’s. Started by farming wooden smithing texts, not needed, but it helps because of the 70% permanent proficiency stat. Then just add proficiency to both of your accessories and start finally start smashing that Tori gate to help others. Good video. I also managed to get Otakemaru’s soul core to drop at lvl 170. Great video. 🍻
Wow Reflex! That's impressive. I also hate you for this comment too haha. I'm nowhere near that level yet but I'm seriously impressed at how you got there!! Good tip bout the Wooden weapons!
So far I'm roughly 270ish hours in and have still only been blessed by RNGesus with... 2 purple, 2 blue, and a yellow 170 oh and 1 tea set at 170. Not a single core or devine as of yet. Hoping that changes soon mate. Lol. Keep up the great content.
Don't mind the ''quality'' of the weapon. Take any weapon lvl 170 give it full familiarity then upgrade any weapon you want. You can equip 2 weapons to sacrifice use a couple of whetstones and have 2 weapons to use for upgrading your 2 main weapons.
It's tough. Good ti below though - its possible the drop rates improve once you're using Expedition mode to help other people. Logically that makes sense - need to test that!!
When you get to lv300 it will be easy to grind +10 weapons and armor but make sure you always send your devine items to storehouse and not dissemble it and play more ng+ expeditions to grind a lot of gold
I wouldn't say easy. Its definitely a grind, sometimes you will get a good amount of drops and other times its terrible loot. I'm level 300 myself and just to make one +10 gear I have to collect like 300 divine items alone.
Glad it worked for you! I wish I had a way to guarantee the attributes you want when tempering... I haven't found a solid way yet but its being looked in to!
Lvl sync, sync you at the higher mission you completed, so the Otekemaru one, so not sure sync make a difference, but you can lvl sync on every other mission on the game and get the same loot level has the otakemaru mission, that the point of lvl sync
Thanks for the comment. In my tests I found that level sync actually did improve the loot drop rate. The difference wasn't huge but if you're farming him 20 times, the loot adds up
@@Onos well if you don't lvl sync in previous map/mission you will get most of the time crappy gears and under 160, but if you lvl sync you can get 160 and even 170 from any mission
I got more than ten level 170 soul cores, my otakumaro (final boss) is level 170 and my kasha too, my weapon is level 170 from a long time, i go weapons level 165 and 163 and 167, i play a lot, and i always get them when i become a visitor, so becoming a visitor it's the easiest way for me, and especially in the eye of the beholder or the twilight missions 👍🏼
Really good tip thank you. i'll be testing this sort of stuff soon. Got a load of tests I'm trying to do but keep getting interrupted by things...have you seen the patch video yet? Saw your message about my build.... will reply to that later on when I get a few real life missions out of the way
1st time u beat the last boss on ng+ u get a 170 item. its random what u get. first time i got a sword,2nd time i got a head. if u can summon a helper (most ninjas use the spider spirit) to help boost ur item drop rate it helps. i dont summon vistors for the eye of the boldher because if they have zero item drop it messes me over if they get the killing blow on him. all my 170 items come from that stage i just farm everything with cups ups
Thanks - that's a good tip - I never noticed that! Sorry for the late reply...trying to reply to most comments but starting to lose track with so many these days
@@dawgyqq3264 for the top level weapons etc it's NG+... If you're looking for Smithing Texts you'll probably be able to get them from NG but I can't promise that as I haven't tested it
Im currently farming the same mission but on expedition with a high luck build as well and i have finally found 3 170 gear in one day. Although through the 450 hrs i played before that i only found 1.
Just had to stop playing to say thank you for the tip about Shrines offering special buys once they are purged of corruption. The current twilight mission "Island of Monsters" has one at the start of the level. I can buy around 4-6 plus 3 weapons/armour every run. No sign of 170 weapons though :(
My pleasure dude. Yeah I think the game scales anything from other players down to 160. Was testing with someone about trying to trade 170 weapons and soul cores... Every time they dropped for me they were lvl160
Interessting! Hate to be that guy that apparently got pretty lucky, however I like to add this info anyway. I got a 170 weapon from a Revenant in a later mission. I farmed Revenants in "The two faces of hospitality" on the bridge after Hanzo joins you. I don´t know how reliable this is, I didn´t farm for 170 gear but soulmatch fodder, I didn´t even realize this at first. An advantage getting a weapon from a Revenant might be that it has a high chance of good suffix rolls and/or good inheritables.
Hahah you ARE that guy! 😂... But really interesting. I didn't realise you could get 170 from revenants! I wonder if I could drop my 170 somewhere for people to get? 🤔
Revenants are not very luck based though(in that their drop pool is allways the same), so it would be possible to cut out a massive amount of the grind via them
Ok, so I tried to farm a bunch more revenants today in different lategame missions and couldn´t get another drop. On the other hand, I got a 162 and a 164 soulcore during my twillight dailies, so in the end the method presented in the video might be much more reliable. The only advantage imho is that you probably get a weapon with desirable traits.
@@Onos Yeah, I've gotten a fair number of them from the mission. I find it much more efficient than Eye of the Beholder in my experience. I often just enter as a visitor for the sake of ease. Beat the heck out of the bosses with other folks.
You are wrong about level sync. Level sync only decrease your damage and defence. You can actually see that in your stats...look for stats before you enter the mission and after you enter the mission.
Thanks! Yeah I must have explained that badly! I was basically trying to say that in my tests, the drop rates seemed to be better with level sync on. The difference in the damage I was taking was higher with level sync on, but it wasn't too much of a problem (for me) Thanks for pointing that detail out! I might pay attention to it as I continue to level up, I'm curious if it's a flat reduction or some kind of percentage
This was actually fairly straight forward for me, I got two Divine Level 170 weapon drops with less than 200 hours of gameplay. One thing people tend to neglect are the tea sets and the hidden tea house, if you get your glory up high enough with your faction they donate you an extra tea set which gives you a crazy luck buff. I just made sure that a few of my items had ‘item drop rate increase’, luck talisman was on 24/7 and that I had all my tea sets at level 160 divine, you’ll find that the +3/+4 divine weapon drops start flowing in, making it much easier to acquire a Divine Lvl 170 (+10). I calculated that it takes 1056 Divine lvl +1 weapons to acquire a +10 weapon. So farming The Eye of the Beholder for the +3/+4’s is the only legit/ fastest way at the moment.
Thanks Reb, really good info! I agree about the tea sets. Just out of curiosity, how much Luck do you get from your Teaset? I'm curious what the upper limit is!
I'd be interested to see what kind difference there is in running a build based on hyper luck like your's vs. hyper clear speed like mine. I still have a good amount of luck and drop rate, item/equip rolled onto gear and such while using the spider spirit etc, but, focused on incredibly high damage. The base damage on my Odachi is sitting just over 2K at +5 and gets increased attack when I throw out Moonlit Snow + Power Pill. I can generally chew up enemies in 1 or 2 Moonlit Snows and most bosses aren't much more work. Trying to figure out if adding more chances for the drop and less time in mission killing the bosses and enemies works out to higher chances than luck alone. I've managed to build up a hefty supply of + weapons from drops. A good pile of them just sitting in the storehouse waiting for the inevitable meatgrinder of soul matching.
I'd be curious to find this out too... My luck is very high so I know my chances of good drops are good... But it definitely slows me down on the damage front... I could definitely do more work on my damage!! Would be very interested to find this out... Might have to do some more testing... Damn my curiosity!
I could give you the details of my build if you wanted to use it for the damage boost. Took some serious luck in the tempering factory though. I want to say I sunk nearly a million into my odachi trying to get that damage bonus Strength A- to roll on there. XD
@@bigdread3894 yeah same here... Got the strength A+ on the Odachi.. I suspect its other areas I haven't maxed out on damage... Haven't rolled any attack onto other pieces yet... Been so focused on getting Smithing Texts!!
That's been my life so far as well. Trying to just get as many texts as I can so I could put together a stable of fun builds especially some weird ones to help out my friends in co-op. However, getting the right gear to double dip, or, even triple dip (Muhuhahahah!) on damage scaling is really nice. Right now I'm getting my stamina up to use the Obsidian set for damage scaling on strength twice and stamina twice for the grandest odachi damage around. That's the dream anyway.
Takes time but it can be done i have one 170 +9 working on my second 160+9 didnt pay attention dont know where i got the 170 soul core though the mission a strong bond the last shrine after you clear the dark zone you can buy +4 armour and weaponds at the bazzare you have to do some grinding but thats how am at 160+9 armour and +9 weapons
The faster method I found as far as getting +3 weapons was doing winds of ruin over and over and like you said I would put them down quickly to make the farming more efficient. I have a katana build geared to paralysis so I can one shot them while paralyzed I also used this to level up to 300 quickly(as one possibly can) but I can’t really say how many +3 weapons I got but they for sure drop a decent amount of divine weapons and armor
Yeah agreed. This video was done originally before those missions existed! An even faster way exists now though... Have you seen the video about +5 divines?
@@EkpyroticBounceHouse-DunderDan it's pretty difficult to qnantify. But that's a very good question! I'm going to test that! My gut feeling says that at face value, no it isn't worth it. But that said I have a feeling all your damage scales with every other damage bonus you get so there probably comes a point where its actually very worthwhile.... I'm going to go test it now! You've just given me an idea for a video haha
I'm not sure if I'm considered lucky but from my time playing I only ever seen level 170 three times. One was a feral mortal soul core, a divine spear and a blue rarity top which is useless.
Honestly I don't know yet! I finished the game using an Axe build, and since then I've done Odachi, Dual swords and Hatchets. I enjoy Amrita builds using Kuhoku Masters Armor and soul cores that give me self healing - I like to just walk into damage and heal through it haha
So first of all I am going to level up my 160+ devine weapon to 160+10 and then I must soul match it with a level 170 devine weapon? Or do I have to start with 2x 170 devine weapons to soul match it to 170+1 and so on? I don't get it sorry xD right now I've a 160+7 devine weapon... What is for me the best way now? Just finished NG+
No you only need one level 170 weapon...if you scale your 160 weapon up to +10 (or whatever level you manage to get it to), then just soul match it with your 170 (making sure to use the 170 weapon as the material) - hope that helps
Regarding XP, you'll pick up loads form just running through the missions in New Game plus! If you've finished already, I'd recommend the Eye of the Beholder mission (Afterglow region)... you get 5x embercite shards as a reward - you'll level super fast
Is this worth doing if I'm not on dream of the wise, right now I'm on the second difficulty and a friend told me that I should start worrying about gear once I get to dram of the wise so... should I start working on soul matching now or should I just wait, all of my gear is 160+1 btw.
You'll be able to get 170s as soon as you walk into dream of the Wise... So personally I'd focus on getting +2,+3,+4 (etc) on your 160 gear. The higher you can get it, the easier your journey will be before you get into dream of the Wise.
not sure how efficent it is but i did see a guy take down the final boss with the item that summons the little cats not sure if that is viable info but from what i saw it was a good strat thought i woud put that in here
@@Onos hey man i was wondering ive seen you play do you have any tips for beating the house monster with the eye monsters that boss has had me on the ropes forever
@@daveymarshall3679 ahhhh right... Sorry. Should have realised. Yeah use the Saki (Japanese wine/spirit)... You should have some in your bags. It will stop any damage over time from elements... That should give you a big head start on the fight.... Then just one from one to another and take them down.... Then hit the one in the middle and do as much damage as you can before it starts again
I HAVE A 180 + 5 GREEN AXE, ive never seen any one else with a 180 weapon...most ppl just talk about the 170 but there are indeed 180's out there ppl..
Good idea! My luck at crafting isn't that good though and I quickly run out of divine fragments to use for crafting! It could definitely help you get there though!
also cant recall name cause im not on ps4 atm but on new game + on afterglow region u can farm the 5 masters main mission its fast and they drop armor+ weapons i got a chest lvl 170 from them, its fast and easy once u know boss mecs if u play with lvl sync on, if u play without it tho u can just nuke em
Please specify the name of the difficulty for new players of the genre. Confusing to call it new game plus when the game mune calls it Dream of the Strong. And which progress you are currently.
I'll do that. Sorry I didn't realise this was unclear (I thought most people would realise what new game plus is... But I'll make it more clear in future just to be safe)
@@One21P understood. In my more recent videos I have been making sure to say "dream of the strong" where it is needed. If you have any questions when you start playing the game, feel free to ask me 👍
Haha I was too... more focused on Odachi at the moment. I'm using the Child of The Sun set - the dual blades are part of it. I use the yasakani magatama for the set bonus boost, then swap the helmet for a Kodama bowl. It means I get the full set bonus even if I never use the dual swords
sorry my friend i do not remember where i got it, at the time i was not listing my new finds so when i ran across it i really had no idea when and/or where it came from..
Looking forward to it very much, but it's hard to say what I think until we get more details I guess. They have said "it will be sizable", but beyond that, not much. I did a video reading out some words on the topic from Tom Lee (creative director) - might be worth you giving it a watch... but it doesn't much away in terms of details yet
Farming +5 weapon/armour from the shrine at A Strong Bond Mission.... just quit game to refresh the items for sale until it shows +5 equipment... needs 32 +5 to get one +10
Hey dude. Sorry for the late reply! Yeah normally I would be using the kodama bowl, but for the mission I was testing with - you don't get the kodama bonus (final zone of the game)
I assure u....when they start releasing the DLCs....they will release even better weapons then divine....just like Nioh 1.....then all this hard work will be for nothing. So my no.1 tip.....just wait for the final Dlc.
I agree with you - but some people (myself included) really enjoy "the grind" haha - I know that the new content will make my current gear useless (or "old") - but still enjoy the process anyway
It needs to be as high as you can get it really. I found the best option was to get it above 150 if possible - but the higher you can get it, the better. I think there is a cap of around 300 luck - but that hasn't been fully proven. Hope that helps
I'm nearly there too - BUT - I've just paused on my mission to get a +10 Odachi. Someone asked me a question recently, and my curiosity won't let me leave it alone haha - so I'm doing some testing and will be doing another video soon to answer the question... I won't spoil the surprise haha
Hahaha wow... That's my next goal now that I've got an awesome weapon... Just farmed to death to make the video I've just set live! Thank you for the offer by the way!
