Extra Info
- +120 gear for weapon is a pretty nice boost in damage, allowing builds to balance their focus rather than DMG DMG DMG. however for armor the +120 is practically useless, going up like 4 defense per lvl. so past +99 you won't get much tankier.
- I literally have NO IDEA WHY they gave us a boost in damage tho...
- You have to upgrade +value things from guy in Underworld. I had mine at 59/60 since the last one is 200 jewels to upgrade so not worth it. highest drop i got was 116-118. depends on scroll/depths.
- You can sub out kusa for ANY critical weapon with cornered Tiger/Boar for this build. Tho not sure you'd run ninigi still for some weapons. probably go 4 Austerity, 2 tsuku, and 7 whatever you want. takeminkata + corruption on weapon likely highest dps.
- 6 Moon + 7 Takeminakata/Izanagi/Magatsuhi/Susano/Ame-no-blahblah is highest dps build. Specifically, CLAWS. With that setup even strong attack high stance will likely one shot some normal enemies.
--- Advancing Storm hatchets are equally broken. But claws kill faster against bosses, hatchets will kill normal mobs faster, and safer.
- Critical, WILL likely get nerfed IF they plan to adjust things more. Whether that's defensively, or damage wise (gambit pill), I don't know. But this build shouldn't suffer as much due to the sets used, and well, ki destroying still makes up for damage so only way this build will get nerfed, is if they literally saw THIS video specifically and chose to nerf it since no one else has done something like this publicly.
- After further analysis of some older clips, perhaps Janomecho will take the edge over baku. With right anima bonuses you should gen 7 anima to spam ippon after every crimson flurry. With raging strike for when enemy Is out of ki, you'd deal about 15% more dmg at least, with namahage core. but jano dmg bonus is immediate, whereas baku/NB has to wait for corruption, so jano would kill normal enemies faster too. Might be worth the swap.

Unfortunately no Yokai shift for this build U.U. I chose to focus on defense for this build to highlight the tankyness of crit, but this is NOT the best KUSA build for dmg. In fact, the BEST DPS boss killer for kusa is a grapple build, WITH yokai shift. Since kusa destroys ki, you could go - 4 taira - 7 ninigi - 2 tsuku You out of ki in human form, then for grapple enter shift mode for yokai grapple for some 200-300k damage or more. Have to add nuppeppo tho. I've heard finishing flair gives a big boost for grapples compared to normal out of ki so might be worth running over iza. assuming it effects yokai grapple. but yah, hope you enjoy the build/info.

yah i dropped futsunushi. just too clunky if you're over-relying on iai/nightrain. severing spin does bad damage even tho it hyper armors now, but again, bad damage aside killing smaller enemies quicker. clips at the end were kurama setup. gl on the build! you should know the general effects/buffs to make stuff work from my videos.

In your Madara video I thought you said corruption weapons are worse because they're harder to get stars for and don't give that much bonus over Purity. Has something changed since that build? Or would this work better with a purity set up?

There is no "best weapon". There's best for certain situations, easiest to master, or personally having a best weapon; but every weapon can perform equally well if mastered. If all stats are equal, every weapon does roughly equal damage. The only exception is unbroken with the fists, but even then, you have to be able to stack it. Check out xelod or pooferllama, they shred with every weapon equally, with no build or specialty. Still, as far as builds go: I love the creativity with this build, using everything possible for awesome synergy, and kusa is just fun to use. A+ for the fun factor on this one, definitely the most fun/interesting build pwar did for DotN, looks great!! Awesome job

There's no need to nerf it because Fists aren't broken. Imo it's one of the more complex, technical weapons in the game, not like the dumb 1-2 move spamming easy2play odachi.... You have to combo several active skills/regular attacks, even with multiple stance switches during mid combo, and beyond infinity is not THAT mega OP if you can't hit the timings right.

Man some people rag on you on the Nioh 2 Discord but you and I have been back and forth since Nioh 1, and I respect your approach. We often happen on the same ideas, but you have the time and support to actually test the things. I toyed with 5pc Austerity, 3pc Tsukuyomi, 2pc Imakomei, and it did better than Imperial Ward 7+ even with no +Attack and subpar %damages I did find it less consistent, slotting 7pc Izanagi would make it worse. You can switch spirits and all, but it's so clunky... I'm broadly leaning toward Melee vs. for the consistency and more or less infinite duration. With the new math, there's little difference between various Set/Grace bonuses, differences between sets are negligible, what really matters is which weapon and how high it's upgraded; and whether you can Confuse or not. BTW, it's "oo-ESS-oogy"

nah i skipped it for this build. it wasn't too impressive i recall for iai/nightrain specifically, so it ended up just being kurama dance spam which is a build i already did before, and that build was still carried by ninjutsu. since i never did reaper kusa, i did that instead.

7 izanagi 4 kurama 2 diehard/tsukuyomi Basically draw moves are still bad so better to focus on kurama. Don't go critical like i did tho, you'll just die more for no reason, hence i didn't make a video since i'd have to refarm gear all over again, twice.

dmg boost strength and stuff? you equip them in skill customization menu. you gotta press square to equip them there, and they can only be for one skill, for once stance at a time.

still hours, but somethings are better. but grace farming and core stat bullshit is still bullshit basically. if they solved the grace problem the game would be infinitely more enjoyable. oh that and tempering accessories for dmg stats. can get poison/para but elements are locked to stars??? Why?

at +3 i got it nearly every time. i think the only one it doesn't work on is yasakani's, might need a +8-9. idk if patch fixed penance stone to get new graces tho so the only things i've gotten were older grace sets.

i spent nearly an entire day to lvl up the + value from 33>59 from the underworld guy. so drops were literally just +116. couple of boss kills and you got a +120. i used the 2 mages method in my underworld tips video to farm lapis. was boring as AF but got the job done.

Hmm, so looking at your damage taken (critical) effects + concerned boar it is roughly 35% + 30% = 65% damage reduction when critical. This means that the build should be operating at very similar effective health pools to a full health build, but its healing from amrita absorbtion/rejuvenation talisman is more effective and protection effect (either from talisman or clan) is also more effective since it should last longer. So overall this build should feel more tanky than a full health build? Or am I thinking about this wrong?

jump back to the beginning of my nioh 2 videos. in newest tip video regarding endgame i did give an overall tip for new players coming from pc/remastered, and that's to make a grapple build with 3pcs of taira, and whatever else you want. but builds don't really start till ng+ till you can get yasakani. otherwise in ng, just pick a full set to wear and use. always get magic/ninjutsu stuff, without them you don't come close to my damage.

Yeah... A lot of things change between Way of the Samurai, "NG", and Way of the Nioh/Underworld, "NG++++ and beyond". Anyone trying to make this build without any kind of cheat device help is going to be investing at least over 1000 hours of gameplay to get something like this.

basically. at +9 you might be able to increase the lvl of the accessory more, but that does nothing but raise its defense stat which is practically useless. flat defense is garbo for mitigation. even 10k defense without a tank crit setup like this will get smacked in dotn/undeworld.

@@kalkanciii it should just be a general increase in drops by having any stone. i doubt the + level matters, certainly doesn't state such. and more so, without knowing HOW much it effects drops, it may or may not be a big deal anyhow. ethereal drop rate A on scroll increases drops but also, not that big a deal if you're killing fast. if +9 slows your kills down, than you're getting less loot which counteracts some of the supposed "increase rarity drops". i did an entire stream with AAA ethereal drop rate set and the drops were barely different. even looking at the +9 kills in the video. where's the ethereals? dotn in +9, sure, everything still dies fast. but say depths or scrolls? you can do without it if you're not killing fast, or if you're getting killed often (which, would slow your gear farming down).
