Lauren, Ben and I spent Christmas 2019 and new years in Hirafu village Hokkaido Japan, snowboarding and enjoying the beautiful townships. We visited lots of bars, restaurants, and generally took in the picturesque surrounds.
I wanted to do a video that did the place justice, most of the videos that I had seen out of Niseko were GoPro based, and mostly on the mountain. There are far better snowboarders out there than us, and so I decided to focus my film on the town, and us having fun. My hope is that the film authentically shows would be visitors what the place is like, and makes people who have been long to go back.
This is the first video I have edited mostly on the trip, and I really enjoyed being able to shoot, and edit in a short period of time. It also meant that I could edit and replace shots I wasn't happy with on the fly. I look forward to doing more travel videos in the future, and I am pretty happy with how this came out.
