To Fabian: AWESOME VIDEO FABIAN. The video was simple, easy to understand, to the point, and definitely educational. And you're a very good presenter of material. To those reading the comments: After seeing this video, I contacted Sunbelt by phone to inquire about purchasing a stepper motor for a Nissan Murano. Not only was I lucky enough to to speak with Fabian himself, but also got some very helpful information and guidance from Fabian. It was definitely a priceless encounter.

Favian was an amazing help. No one in my area (North Georgia) works on these CVT transmissions, they only replace them. He understands them and all of their components. He may be able provide an affordable fix without full replacement. The videos are such a great help and resource! Very encouraging.

Love the content. So recently my 2013 maxima has no check engine light on, no trans codes either. I did notice from 20-30 mph the trans stutters but as soon as i let go off the gas and press it again it goes smooth. Then when im going 60 and slowdown from 40-20 its like rumbles. Could this be a bad stepper motor?

Hi! Fabian, thank you for such amazing video. I have a question I was driving my 2008 Nissan Sentra CVT and the sudden the speed went down to 40 mph abd lost force, I scanned and it’s reading code P1777, which means stepper motor issue. Do you think I should change the stepper motor? Also a mechanic told that I can use the old transmission fluid if I replace the stepper motor, it’s that true? Thank you for your feedback

I just got the P1778 code for stepper motor on 2012 Nissan Altima. (i believe JFO11E) Just pulled it all apart and checked resistance like you did in your vid. Checked harnes for shorts, its all functioning properly. Checked the 4 coils and all 4 are at 15.5. Only thing i cant do is electrically try it, because i dont have the controller to test it. I believe the stepper motor is ok...but what i did notice was the ratio control valve, that attatches to the motor, seems to not move freely within its bore. It feels a tiny bit sticky. Could this cause the code for stepper motor? If so what is the remedy for it? I looked at valve bodies online, and looks like none of them come with the ratio control valve. So im assuming you must need to use it from original. But what if it is not within spec? It would cause issues on new VB...is there a way to bore or hone the original bore for the valve? Symptoms are the vehicle shifts or "varies" up till about 45mph, then holds the rpms around 3K but wont upshift. Then it sets the code. Hoping for some help. Thank you kindly!!

@@ezy123abc Yes i did figure out the issue...The trans was shot! Replaced it with a quality used one, and have had no issues what so ever. The pulley doesn't travel correctly, and it causes the stepper motor code.

@Eric-hk5xt
@Eric-hk5xt Год назад
Hey George, I have found it hard to get the actual part number for the step motor as it is not an individual part that Nissan sells. It is usually bundled with a valve body, but not always. I ended us using my transmission number JF009E RE0F08A to find the part. I got it (OEM part too) on ebay from seller tranzmissionpartsusa. Good luck!

@@Eric-hk5xt Eric I found it I bought it at I think it was AutoZone. But I fixed it it was working for like 2 weeks and then all of a sudden it went back into limp mode. Now I went and changed the speed sensor before that it would only go after I went back and lent mode it would only go into third gear now it goes into fourth gear sometimes fifth and it's erratic now. I don't know if there's another sensor bad but the codes are still coming up p1777 and it's driving me crazy.

@@GodsChampionTazz Oh man, that is shite! I am waiting on my CVT fluid to see how mine turns out. Did you happen to visually inspect the related wiring harness and connectors? Check for damaged components and look for broken, bent, pushed out, or corroded connector's pins.
