What are you smoking? The NISMO GT-R is more expensive than the AMG GT R. Maybe you are thinking of the Camaro ZL1 1LE which beats the NISMO GT-R on track for less than half it's price.
That doesn't really change the point. The AMG GT R has beaten the NISMO on several tracks, and directly in a MT comparison. The standard ZL1 is faster on track than the standard GT-R.
So the brand-new, top-of-the-line Merc GT R goes about toe-to-toe with the real, standard GT-R that's been on sale for 10 years and has its ESC engaged... What an achievement.
@@shshh-fw9eh Amg black series came out with a time of 6:43 around nurburgring which is 25 seconds faster than nismo. Everybody knew that black series was coming out so saying the Merc was top of the line is straight up retarded. The Amg is now the FASTEST track production car in history.

In terms of external appearance, interior design and sound, the AMG is the winner hands down. In terms of value, daily use practicality and mod potential there's no question the one true GTR is unbeatable.

RWD is my thing , the Benz looks mean. Engine looks like it's sitting behind the axles, interior is quality and ur getting a 4.0L V8-TT. SOLD. I've drove a tuned GTR and it was insane. The grip , sound , and power was something I never forgot
Still would take the Nissan GTR. It's cheaper to buy, maintain, and gas up. The Merc looks great and sounds awesome, but in terms of money and reliability, I'd get the Nissan. Also you get performance in the Nissan that could compete with other high end super cars for cheaper.
Still love the TRUE NISSAN GT-R !! More cheaper, more fun and many aftermarket part can be install inside that Godzilla You can't steal the glorious name of 'GT-R' because it has a lot of story, history and experience !!

The GTR sent the German and Italian performance car manufacturers back to the drawing board in 2009. Ferrari engineers said it is impossible to make a car to do what the GTR does. They tried everything in 10 years to counter this car with some success. They had 8-10 years and they still cannot make “a much better car” apart Porsche and some HyperCars... even those are just half a second faster and other small performance differences. THEREFORE GHE GTR IS A BETTER CREATION OF THE AUTO INDUSTRY!
I've been a Nissan fan boy for ages so loving the Nissan GT-R is a foregone conclusion. I have never found a Mercedes desirable. I think Mercedes engineered feeling out of their cars 30 years ago in favor of sterility that rivals an operating theatre. All that changed when Mercedes released this AMG GT-R. It is achingly beautiful and the engine sounds are great. The interior has been given over to the AMG division entirely, it seems. It's just way too good looking to have come from a normal chrome worshiping Mercedes affiliated design studio. It also has that lovely, traditional, overall GT shape with the long hood and the small cabin. First new car in a long time to make me question my life choices.
Mazder_. The Nissan can definitely be used as a daily driver fo sho...You mentioned a McLaren which definitely is not a daily driver. Not only that but you can only go to a McLaren dealer to get your car fixed.. They made it that way so they can get you coming and going.
I greatly appreciate your conclusion to this comparison. These are 2 magnificent cars. There is nothing to be gained by claiming 1 'destroys' the other... or 'dominates' or whatever as so many channels produced by 20 year olds like to say. I don't race my cars and regardless of how much any of us enjoy the ones we choose to own at the moment, there is no reason to say our fellow enthusiasts enjoy their chosen machine any less. My word, such two masterpieces!! Personally a JDM guy and would take the Nissan all day, but god doesn't the AMG GT R make one look and feel utterly special! Hats off to AMG for making such a great machine and also can't wait to see what Nissan has been up to with (possibly) the R36 GT-R.

This test is made on purpose to void the AWD difference and efficiency of the Nissan GT-R, the tests executed ARE ridiculously BIASED and this is a JOKE. In real life the Nissan GT-R would destroy the Mercedes in a straight line because of traction and more efficiency but the idiots conducting the test decided to start a roll on accelaration ? WTF a joke! Another test is in a curb while removing the traction control, they awarded the Mercedes the victory driving in a curb ?? with no traction control ? WTF ? In real life roll race (highway acceleration) is much more useful than 0-10000000 acceleration.... And second thing, go sit in Nissan and after that go sit in Mercedes, not everything is about speed, there is emotion and feel that V8, RWD, quality and luxury gives you.... I just miss the days when people actually felt emotion of cars, now they just wanna see 0-62mph (0-100mph) in 2 seconds, this world is going bad way and I am sad because of it
very bias. The Nismo GTR is the one that should be compared to this Mercedes AMG GTR. But in the end That was a 10 year old Nissan. Nissan GTR > AMG GTR. German cars break down easily like an old person getting sick too easy.
I agree they should have used the NISMO GT-R, but the results really would have been the same. The NISMO is still slower on track than the AMG, and less exciting to drive.

The Nissan GTR is like Apple Watch or Android Watches, young and ambitious. Then the AMG GT R is just like any Swiss made luxury smart watches, heritage and refined. It's just the matter of fact where do you want to spend your money on, something that would do the job? or something alot more expensive that would do the same job.

Daniel Maia it's not misaligned it's just the way the tail lights are designed. Take a good look at 0:10 to see the left side from farther away but filmed close from that angle it really looks bad.
So the AMG is almost a decade younger and has 2 extra cylinders and only just beats the a regular r35 in a rolling start drag race taking away its AWD and launch control advantages. Just shows how ahead of its time the R35 was back then. Imagine if Nissan added 2 more cylinders and a "thunderous" sounding exhaust to the GTR.. The AMG would be left wondering how to put socks on caterpillars.
Yes Nissan GTR is very good car, but man it is overhyped, 10 years later I still don't get why people make so much noise about it. Its just toooooo boring, 99% of it is computer... Next thing, comments bellow say AMG is double the price and offers just 5% more.... Oh guys come on... First of all AMG GT R bonnet doesn't open on high speeds, when you sit in it you don't feel like you are in some cheap hatchback like you do in R35... Thing is, Mercedes, BMW and Audi will always have best cars. Car is not best if it is fastest or best looking, car becomes best when you have quality, luxury, looks, presence, performance and safety on top level, cars like Nissan GTR only have 50% quality, presence and performance (I don't like looks of R35, R34 is much sexier)... The drag race bit was bullshit. I'm a huge Merc fan but the testers just gave it an advantage. The GTR's main playing card is the blistering speed off the line, not from a rolling start.
One comment re "boot space" -- we GT-R owners do actually love it because it allows us to pack a full track day worth of gear and get it to the track and back without a support vehicle. And I know these tests are all meant to be showroom floor model vs. showroom floor model, but for most enthusiasts of either car, it's worth noting that there's a decade of R&D into aftermarket parts for the GT-R. Truly, taking a GT-R and putting $5K into it, it will dispatch most of its contemporary competition even given the same investment in the competitor vehicle. These things matter to those that actually use the cars for what they are meant to do.
