The M5 is a different animal. I know, I own one and practically everyone kicks my butt off the line. However, let me catch you if I can and once I pass you there is no catching me! Not the most fun car all around but an absolute joy top speed and very smooth. Luxury meets sport like no other except maybe Porsche Panamera.
M5 carries 4 people in comfort and has 4 doors, plus naturally aspirated. GT-R is a twin turbocharged coupe, can just about squeeze 4 in. The M5 is an amazing machine.
GTR has 4x4 so it is very quick at the start but the M5 has enough power to do 330 kmh , so at the end the M5 will be win btw both cars are very good cars !!!
@xkg20t You are correct. Not quite the same comparison at those different speeds. Although, I have raced 2 M5s at speeds of up to 150mph. The lead I gained prior to that speed would have taken the 5 centuries to catch up although I did not notice any gain on their part during my two races I've had with these cars.
@xkg20t I've never raced starting at 80. I started at 40 approx. both times. but this video is not the best-the M5 seems to have a decent 10mph to 20mph advantage when the GTR driver finally floors the gas.
@vandalski858 No, that is why you save some more money and buy Porsche 911 Turbo PDK. Considering maintenance costs in the long run the price gap is not substantial.
@UZYYYY he slowed down to have an even fight through the straight but you are right the m5 was giving it the whole corner and the gtr was babying the throttle until he thought was a good time to go but he didnt have the speed at the beginging of the straight to keep up. id like to see that at a n even rolling start.
@freeweekdaywho knows dude. they designed the GTR sooo complicated that it would probably mess with the drag, or make it better who knows,the aero dynamics is soooo pefect to get the air flowing to the huge rear spoiler for downforce. its fuckin art if u think about it. every cuve, the ferrari 458 is that way 2 and other high end imports and corvette (speaking in USA)
I cheer for both... i love godzilla and adore the M5 V10, both are epic and both have their specific weaknesses and strengths.. From my POV ;-) You don't buy a M5 to burn rubber on a track, you buy it to cruise along at insane speeds on the motorway.. The GTR however is the car you buy when you want to have a laugh and toss it about.. Not fast top end, true.. but i have never seen a racetrack without bends and curves either...

@masonizere agreed the gtr did wait for the m5 to catch up then hit it again but it was too late,if they race again and the gtr keeps it floored the m5 has no chance every1 knows that..
Its funny how some people automatically think the M5 is better then the GTR, ur putting a V10 5.0L up against a V6 3.4L no shit in the long run the M5 will win. The funny thing is the GTR owns all these big macho V10s and V12s in track left and right.
@MrPro26 it is twin turbo also and weighs less, awd launch is epic, m5 does have a v10 but not a huge hp difference, oh yeah it weighs a hell of a lot more and is more practical....huge trunk, real rear seats, two extra doors. M5 owns this super sprint at the top end, that was bound to happen, but not at a track, no bmw cant take on a gtr on the track maybe M3 GTS but probably not
@MrPro26 if filming, they usually have one in each car to get the shot as far as all the DVD's they have. hp is always unknown on a GTR. on american company reviewed it at 507HP. Un-assed the GTR is 3800lbs and the M5 is 4000lbs. That isnt a huge difference, i thought it was way more. but the tq is way higher in GTR. Yet, this M5 is modded with a bit more hp but knows how much each is actually putting down, they both have killer chasis. No lie though, if i had the money, c6 Z06 w/mods! you?
When it comes down to it, does it matter if your car can break 200 mph? Not to me, if someone pulls up to me at a light and wants to race I'd rather have a car that can rip to 60 fast than one that can hit 200 fast.

@Skepparkroken5 Hell NO!!! On the last video that person fucked up that corner which allowed the ttrs to get well ahead. If you look at that vid the m5 is whooping it in the beginning until that guy does like 20mph around the corner and doesn't put his foot down until the ttrs is well ahead of him.
The GTR is a monster at launch, IE it can do it at around 2.8 seconds. But the BMW M5 would win at top speed and just go faster and faster. The GTR is track tuned for fast launch and cornering. Now, pit a Porsche 911 Turbo S against the GTR and the GTR loses in ALL aspects. The Porsche is faster at launch and top speed. Still, keep in mind the BMW M5 is a FULL sedan that seats 5 adults and a big trunk. It also weigh more. That says a lot.

Of course it doesn't win all the time, it's just that it is good and win just as much as the GTR. For the streets I bet the GTR can at times be better than a Porsche, in fact perhaps most of the time. But on track Porsche uses their track cars, and not "street" car Porsche. And in that they usually beat out the GTR version.
Grt waitedfor the m5 in the corner..... if the gtr is holdin at100 while the accelerating m5 catechs up what are the speeds when the m5 and the gtr are side by side b4 thegtr starts to accelerate again. ?. If the gtr didnt wait the out come would be just like the start
@dickcheese663 ur right on most thing but its not a huge dif. it only like 100 and i bet the passenger on the GTR wighted about 170 so wight balanced out
Sorry to disagree, but the 911 Turbo S does not win in all aspects. I love the Turbo S and would take one over a GT-R, but the GT-R is faster than the Turbo S in track situations, like the Nurburgring.
Ok the BMW is faster but you dont have a place where you can build up that speed. The Nissan has better acceleration better traction control its 4x4 very good steering. And that my friend...is why you buy a Nissan!!!
BMW только выехала с завода уже горит штук 10 ошибок, дальше больше от завода до автосалона литр масла надо долить, и дальнейшая эксплуатация строго запрещена если в багажнике нет десятилитровой канистры с маслом. И еще пару стартов с лаунча и час остывать надо иначе пипец движке и коробке.

Детки. как раз для дебилов объясняю. бмв и сделана с завода чтоб она 100 тысячь майлов не ломалась вообще потому что на гарантии в страховке по ремонту а потом уже они начинают сыпатся. Ты же даже не знал наверное как коробки в гтр летят и как она дорогая в обслуживании и что она ломается много?
How you can compare M5 with GT-R in case of accelaration . GT-R is a totaly different level ( higher) . The Top speed depend of transmition ration and is variable , but acceleration depend also of transmition ratio but many items more. Traction control is a most imoprtant and GT-R in this field is a light year ahead of M5 and anything else. Like kid I did like BMW it was my drae car , but the real life is different. I few times I did watch a race ( drag race on 1/4 mile ) in Chicago area between M5 and GT-R . The different was a hughe , uncomparable . There is no doubt M5 is good car , fast simply ultimate driving machine , but in case of acceleration GT-R in totaly different lever . HIGHER Look this mourning some tuners set a new world record with GT-R ( but this one has 3000+ HP ) on 1/4 mile 6.85 second and this GT-R has exit speed od 341 km/h after only 6.85 seconds . Enough or not
Who you think you is? You cant afford neaither one of them so keep dreaming. M5 is cheap but high maintenance. Gtr is expensive. You are so dumb you just compared old bmw vs a newsupercar. Wow!! Did you know that a new m5 is all wheel drive high hp monster that takes couple thousand to make a 10 second car that on a roll or from stop will embarrass gtr? Ofcourse you will say well you can modify the gtr more but you can do the same for m5. So bye bye.
@dickcheese663 reason why the hp differs in some GTRs is cuz each engine is hand built but most tend to be around 485-490, and im not much into american muscle so if i had the money i would just get a GTR or Spec V w/mods loll
@MrPro26 hell yeah that would be kick ass, if they only sold those in th US. Imports all the way! but if i had to choose one american car car it would be da Z06. da only muscle car aspect is the 7.0L trust me im all for perfection, pride, skill, discipline, proper engineering, and technologically mastered engines, but damn it my inner texan loves the sound of that car with a full racing exhaust. u can at least agree with that, im a Lexus master tech and have owned BMW ///M cars my whole life.
