Nissan Murano How to Start with a Dead Key Fob 

I was panicked when my fob died without warning, I was 2 hours from home (and my spare key). This literally saved me! THANK YOU!

I put a new battery in my key fob because my battery was low, but maybe I put the battery in wrong because the key fob wouldn't work at all. This video saved me because I can still start and drive my car while I figure out what I did wrong with the new battery.

Kinda' in panic mode now ... I tapped the fob a little and kept trying until the car finally started. I knew about the emrgency key, but had no idea what to do to sart the car. After 2 years I’ve finally learned that there is no opening to insert a key. The key is just for opening the door.

I have a port in my 2010 murano. My wife thinks you can recharge the battery. I think it is for this very purpose...to start car with a dead keyfob simply because there is no indication that the batteries are rechargeable. Also when I plug in the keyfob I don't see a lightning bolt or any other indication that anything is charging. But it has started tge car.

I was hoping that I could cut another hard key and have in case of loosing my key fob (as I did yesterday which stranded me for hours). So we can’t get the Murano to start unless at all times we have the key fob dead or alive?

2006 doesn't have a push button start but you have to turn the switch. So, what do you do then?

My key fob for my Nissan Murano isn't dead; but yesterday, when I went to press the brake pedal to start it, it felt like the brake pedal wouldn't push in right, so I couldn't start it. It took about 8 tries to get it to start. What would cause that?
