This video is super helpful thank you for making it. I think you're having the same problem i am. The cable is a metal stranded cable so it's wound. I'm pretty sure my cable has stretched itself overtime. So i had to replace the entire cable to the Lock actuator and it seemed to fix it. I think they used cheap wound cables that stretch over time.
Thank you very much for this video. It literally saved me from spending almost $700 at the mechanic shop. I loved how you should every nook and cranny. Thanks again
Thanks, that was exactly my problem on our 2013 Rogue. One tip to get access to the inside handle, roll the window down half way, remove covers to expose big holes so you can detach the glass and lift out. Then only remove the black 10mm bolts to remove the entire power window assembly. Piece of cake! Do NOT loosen the silver 10mm bolts!
Thanks for the video! You really helped me out of a bind. Customer needed their car back to soon as possible. Couple things I did different that might help others.First thing I did was tape the window up so it doesn’t come down when you pull the regulator panel away from the door. Second thing I did was instead of using a screw to make up for the gap I used just enough clear silicone to fill in the gap to stop the ball end of the cable from popping out. Making sure the silicone doesn’t interfere with the ball end of the cable. I just subscribed to your channel. Thanks again!
Thank you so much. I went to fix this on my own because I have taken the door panel off many times for stereo work-- however, I could not figure out how to remove the lock and handle to see the issue. Your video helped me identify the T30 fastener on the rim of the door and also how to remove the yellow clasp that holds the locking lever in place. Life saver. I agree, putting the glass window rails back onto the inner panel is a pain. I found suction cup handles from harbor freight made it so much easier. I was able to adjust the glass to the right position and line up the rakes with the panel. I used a piece of string at first to pull the rails flush with the panel because I was having a hard time getting the screws to "catch" the threading on the rails. Once the rails were pulled against the panel I fasted them and it was smooth soaking from there thank you again!
this door still opened. see if you can remove or even slightly move the door panel from the inside out of your way and try to pull that cable that opens the door.
This was great, I have a good customer and this has happened twice… first time I did it with the window down I have no idea how I did it… noticed you did it with the window up, that’s key, much more room.
I just did this repair (new drivers door) handle on 2011 Rogue with keyless entry yesterday. Without viewing videos like this one, the job would have been much more difficult. Hint, tape the windows in the full up position before you remove regulator panel. The holes lined up and I drew it together with longer 8mm bolts (not supplied) and one by one replaced with factory 8mm bolts. The whole job, about 1.5 hours of twisting and swearing!
Thanks for the guide helped me out a ton, the way i combated the ball falling out was to pinch the circle that it sits inside, the cable can’t slip out and the mechanism works flawlessly
Great video helped me out with my Infiniti QX50 that had the same problem and a very similar setup on the inside. Saved me a trip to the shop! Thank you!
I did this before in 2019. Lasted almost 2 yrs. It hapened again few months ago during freezing weather. I dont recall totally taking the lock out, but had it disconnected in there (from the rod)...I had a heck of time with the window regulator attachments/plastic and it looked bent from factory...(i actually had it all out of the door for some reason) It seems like this is a problem with 'many' Nissans (incl Sentra/Altima). I found a listing for a recall circa 2010 for the Rogues regarding the latch popping out, but i have been to dealers a handful of times during ownership and asked on recalls and nothing was ever mentioned about the latch, smh. The screw was a great idea! I am finding it hard to bring myself back to go thru this again. Plus my tools are across the country. Anyone in TX that I can pay $60 to do this for me?? LOL. Due to this kind of fun as well as the CVT, the only Nissan i would buy again would be older Xterra.
Thanks for this, looked for other instructions but could find none. One thing I wish you would have shown was how to get the damn thing apart to get to the cable. Getting that lock out drove me mad until I saw where I could snap that yellow clip off the rod down below, allowing the lock to rotate out. I took some pics of how I fixed it. I actually made a little "shield" to hold it in. Need to file a patent now and get paid for my marathon fix on the wifes ride. Cheers.
Worked on my brother-in-laws 2011 Rouge and found that removing the window glass allows you to remove the black panel AND the window rails as a single unit. This is much easier than trying to re-align the rails to put those silver bolts back in. There are only 2 bolts holding window in, and it's an easy remove and return.
@@grymbathym635 Yes it worked, its basically the same - the only difference was i removed the glass, it comes out at an angle through the window frame, after you loosen the two screws holding the glass to the elevator mechanism.
Thank u sir for this video and was going to bring in my vehicle n mechanic told me i need to dropped it off cause he stated something broken inside n need to order some parts lol oh well ill just do it myself. You be safe out there.Keep doing what u do best.
The dealership quoted me 100 bucks to fix it. After fixing it myself, I almost would pay them to do it. This is a common problem because of bad design. They should fix it for free.
@@Ed-cs6kw $100? where are you at? that is great price. Amen-it is a poor design and they should indeed...common Nissan issue. We should get like a 25K signatures on change.org, lol. One guy said we should report it as safety issue, lol. (NHTSA). The CVT is another big one for Nissan.
my 2012 just did this for the first time. Nissan used to never have issues like this. This is the 3rd thing thats happened to mine since I bought it new in 2012. IDK I dont see the quality I used to and my Nissan Frontier is the same way.
Agree, Renault, etc. bought Nissan I think and in decline ever since. On many top car pick lists, Nissan is falling. Now late model Hyundai/Kia are ahead. The CVTs are a huge issue/risk as your mileage climbs.
Same my 2010 rogue drivers side has been hell. The exterior handle broke during inspection. Fixed it....then the window wouldnt roll up or down....fixed that...now you cant open the door from the inside and it's the front driverside door
I watched you do the repair video pretty good but can you help me if you are out there I am trying to open my door so I can take the panel off my handle is broken it is doing exactly what you were saying it is doing please help me how do I open my door
I havent had that issue, the door would still open for me but I think your best bet is to get yourself a lockout kit or another name for it is a slim jim for car door. In my video you can see where that lock unlock rod is so you should be able to rich it with your window open with that tool to get your door open, you can get that tool online or your local automotive store. Good luck.
u can go thru what this clip is showing - I would try a fix it by trying hot gluing myself - the plastic that is for the cable and ball is worn is the true issue - this is why the ball is coming out - this needs to be a recall - this is a problem with the roque - more and more owners are running into this issue-- another issue Nissan has with the Roque handles that crack - there is a flaw in the manufacturing design of the handles -
Great video and innovative fix. I'm by no means we'll versed mechanics and decided to take on the task of fixing the door handle on my girlfriends Nissan Rogue. I got it done however I'm having a stressful time trying to get the lock to line up with that screw on the side of the door any idea why? The screw is hitting just before the hole on the locking mechanism.
Hey congratulations man. 770 subs. And 30.000 plus views on this video. Great job 👍👍👍👍👍. I think you be the next Scotty Kilmer 😁😁😁😁😁. It’s just that your videos are much better than his.
is it loose? theres a bolt in the door on the side where the latch is, if u already took that out then just move it around, it came out for me so it should come out for u.
the whole handle assembly with the lock cylinder is held on with one torqs bolt (T30) on the side of the door or door jam, remove that bolt and the handle should come out, then the lock cylinder. Dont forget about the yellow clip.
Thank you very much!! Because I was trying to remove that bolt and keeps turning and turning. So, definitely I need to remove both door panels, I guess. The only problem that I need to fix is the door handle that has broken and of course we can’t open the door. But once again, thanks a lot, I’ll try the yellow clip this time.
Hi, have same problem today, cannot open door from handle outside but from inside can open with nissan navara np300 2017 year this, be same problem to repair?
Awesome info! I’m registered with Nissan to receive all factory recalls on my model (2013) and have no info on that. I’ll be visiting my local dealer this week😬😬😬
@@amederward7081 ya exactly. ONLY Nissan would have a recall that expires. I had many trips to dealers before 2014 and never a peep about this recall. Now mine is unlatched/broken again. Never another Nissan, smh.
My door opened from the inside, if yours doesnt then you have more issues. This isnt my car so I couldnt tell ya if theres something you can remove from the door panel and try to reach in to pull that cable.
CruizinMax thanks for your response. I looked around online for estimated times for amateurs but only saw estimated labor at 2.5 hours. It would probably take me longer even with this helpful video so I’ll either find a willing friend to do it for less than $150 or take it to my mechanic as I don’t want to risk not having the weather proof material or other stuff not get back in its place. I have to replace the outside keyless handle. I also have deadlines I cannot absorb that many hours beyond the two it may take. Good video though.
the main problem is putting the inside cover back together as all 4 bolts need to line up. And the way they made it, is that the window rails are attached to that cover, so everything moves on you as you are trying to do so, rails used to be attached to the door and cover would be separate or it would be just some kind of plastic.
I hope I never have to do this to my 2016 or 2017 rogues. What a pain. I also hope the wife's Leaf is simpler because that one I do have to do. the chrome piece loses a tab that holds it on. What an annoying crap design.
bro what part of the country are you in I need to pay you to come and fix my wives it looks like a pain in the ass and hers is doing it now it's been doing it for a week Good tutorial though
NEVER EVER BUY A NISSAN AGAIN!! ive replaced so many mechanical parts of my 2014 nissan select. Now the door handle, and no air bags now because it cost $1000. + 200 i pd already for diagnostic 😡😡 so Hate Nissan, so so frustrated!!
