Nov 23 - Called up my local Nissan dealership to get quote for replacing my front passenger side door actuator. Labor $463, part $346. Total ~$850. Ordering the part via eBay and following your video. $50. Sense of accomplishment - priceless! Thank you so much for sharing this video.
Thank you for making this video and including the whole process! Especially the part where you tested the locks before completely reassembling the door. Not that anyone would every get to this point and FORGET to reconnect the power to the actuator ;) Thanks again!
I have a question, If you disconnected the cables from the bad Actuator, why can't you just re-connect those cables to the new Actuator, without removing the door latch or changing the entire assembly? Oh, is the actuator in latch section of the assembly, that's why you removed it?
Thank you for this video. Helped immensely, whoever designed this actuator needs a punch in the face. Way more complicated than need be. Wish Nissan would copy how Honda does doors lock actuators.
Any details as to where to source the actuator ? I found a few out there but most had terrible reviews and said they either didn’t work or partially worked
Thanks for good video. Unfortunately no sound and caution. I did exactly the same. Replacing the actuator. Check after replace it. Everything works great. Put everything back nicely. Close the door. Now I can’t open the door anymore. The door is unlocked. Pulling handle, door won’t open. Pull door latch inside, door won’t open. What can I do from here? I have to get in and out from passenger door.
@@tonyisgrendel A friend owns the car stereo shop helped to open the door and put back the original actuator (which is not working), no charge and no explanation how to open. Return the new bad actuator to online ordering. Had the dealership replaced the original actuator for $500 but complained with Nissan manufacturer and got compensated half. End up cost $250 and weeks of headache.
I figured it out. There’s a small latch inside the assembly that needs to be attached to unlock the door. Simply attach it before putting it on. Compare your old assembly it’s a metal piece that goes inside a hole.
Thanks I bought a cheap actuator on Amazon and the door would not open. Everything was working for like 1 hr. I will put together the original piece and buy the original as well.
