So if you come across the problem with the fuel tank/pump metal locking ring not fitting flush or some metal slots are overlapping/misaligned then just use the original Green rubber O ring instead of the new one or get one similar in size to the OEM Green Rubber O ring. I came across the same problem with the new black Rubber O ring not fitting but used the original Green rubber O ring which is bigger than the new Black Rubber O ring in size and I was able to insert the metal locking ring back with no problems. (Took me 2 hours of struggling and finally comparing both Rubber O rings to release my mistake).

If you have more than half a tank, you might want to figure out a way to empty some out before you begin. But otherwise, not unless the gas has been in there over a year. Just be careful to clean around the pump ring and on top of the tank while your working so that dirt and debris don’t get into the tank A little is ok, cause the screen will do it’s job.

I found two fuel pump covers after seat removed. One cover with letter LH and the other cover with letter RH , should I replace the LH or the RH one or change both? Many Thanks!

What’s the year, make and model? May have a transfer pump.

@@MechanicalTriage Hi , my car is 2009 nissan rogue SL AWD, I now know another cover without a black pipe at top is fuel level guage for sensing the fuel level only .....I had an inaccurate fuel level indication, that's where the problem is,I guess. Will buy the parts to change it, not the fuel pump thanks for your response!

does this also solve the issue on nissan pathfinder 2013 (untimely/hard to duplicate) judder? no codes where found...

That sounds like a fuel problem working it’s way down line. Could be the transmission, but honestly I would check the spark plugs first.

Does a 2014 rogue have a fuel filter, where would I find it?

It seems to be a non serviceable item. Meaning, it’s built into the pump, inside the tank.

The part number changed in 2014. It’s slightly different. Pull your back seat up and look for the access panel. If it’s under there, procedure should be close to the same.

Do they make a tool to undo the giant nut?

I haven’t seen anything specific to remove that one, they probably do, but I’m kinda old school and usually use what I have available. This is the way I’ve always done it, and was trained this way.
