Replacing the subframe bushings on a Nissan Sentra 2007-2013 is a complex task that requires a decent amount of mechanical skill and the right tools. Here's a general guide to replace the subframe bushings with “Problem Solving Bushings” (PSBs) on a Nissan Sentra. The PSBs are a better engineered replacement than the OEM bushings.
Tools and Equipment:
1. Jack and jack stands
2. Lug wrench
3. Socket set ½” and ⅜”
Procedure:
1. Lift the Vehicle:
- Use a hydraulic jack to lift the front of the car.
- Secure the vehicle with jack stands.
2. Remove Wheels:
- Use a lug wrench to remove the front wheels.
3. Support the Subframe:
- Place a hydraulic jack or engine hoist under the subframe to support it during the bushing replacement.
4. Remove the Engine Torque Mount under the car and Engine mount attachment point near the Driver’s side wheel well.
5. Unattach the lower control arm and sway bar linkage from the shock/strut.
6. Remove the Subframe Bolts:
- Locate and remove the bolts securing the subframe to the chassis.
- Support the subframe with the hydraulic jack or engine hoist while removing the bolts.
- Slightly lower the subframe then undo the bolts for the steering rack and pinion
7. Lower the Subframe:
- Carefully lower the subframe with the hydraulic jack or engine hoist.
8. Remove Old Bushings and clean off rubber:
- Use a wire brush drill attachment to remove leftover rubber in the bushing cup and/or burn out any remaining rubber with a propane torch.
9. Install New Bushings:
- Lubricate “Problem Solving Bushings” with synthetic grease and hit the bushings into the cups with a rubber mallet.
- Lubricate the bushing metal sleeve and hit it into the bushing with a rubber mallet.
10. Reassemble the subframe and reattach all other components.:
11. Test Drive:
- Take the car for a test drive to ensure there are no unusual noises or handling issues.
Important Tips:
- Follow torque specifications for all bolts.
- Use the Problem Solving Bushings as they solve the poorly designed bushings and prevent you from having to remove the bushing cups from the subframe.
- Be patient and take your time, as this is a critical component for the vehicle's suspension system.

I just got my subframe out from under the car today. Since it's out I'll be replacing both axles, all bushings, motor mount, torque mount, brakes, and struts. Might as well do it all while it's in pieces and accessable.

About the steering rack, reaching the nuts that mount it will be hard to reach. Use an electric wrench if possible, and drop the frame slightly (make sure to support it) to give you more access from the back of the frame (I suggest to just lift the whole car up). That or remove the rack and pinion before dropping the frame. There is a bolt below the steering wheel. Don't disassemble your steering rack unless you know how to align your wheels. Hope this helps.

I just got my subframe bushings replaced on my Nissan rogue and it used to sound super squeeqy and when I accelerated or braked I felt the whole front end shifting around, my car feels so solid now

I like them better than OEM. cheaper., and easier to install than the OEM. You'd need a hydraulic cup press.

Do not attempt to replace these bushings at home it is not a DIY job take it to a shop you have been warned.

@Dino97612 I would consider this a heavy line job so if you have never worked as a mechanic not just changing oil but big jobs then don't try this. You have to drop the entire sub frame. Not really a garage job you need a lift and pole jacks.

@@pbassassinz8097 I’ve replaced all the suspension around my car, complete brake jobs, tensioner, water pump, intake manifold, throttle body. I had a hell of a time with the control arms just due to them being so stiff compared to the old ones. I’d be doing this in a driveway over a weekend with a jack, and 4 jack stands. I have all sorts of tools but your comment has me rethinking. My car isn’t worth shit since it has 200k miles but I’m not going to pay $1500 for a shop to do the job. Hmmm
