As somebody who used to own a Nissan Silvia, I definitely regret selling my Silvia for 12,000 dollars back in college,there goes my story about one of my biggest regret.

The S15 Silvia front end is so elegant and beautiful to me.

All the fan boys dream of the R34. I dream of having a White S15!!!! Drooling!!!

I'm the second owner of a 98 S14 that I got in late 99. The previous owner was older person that didn't keep it long and treated it well. Less than 20K miles and the car was virtually new. I've been into the import scene since my latter high school years (mid 90s). At that time the Zenki had appealed to me but as soon as I saw the face lift (Kouki), I knew that was going to be my next car. 2019 I still have it. Only did an engine rebuild. But other than that, unmolested.

I've been an S14 owner for over a decade and you failed to mention how overwhelmingly rare it is to see them in mint or stock especially with out any damage, since others keep on drifting them.

Nissan bring back the Silvia, Mitsubishi bring back the Evo, Toyota bring back the Supra!

I lived in Japan during the 80s, and I remember my dad's friend owned a bright red S110. It still stands out in my memory all these years later.

God I want a s15 Silvia, it’s one of my favorite JDM cars besides the GTR R34! Both only come in right hand drive which is bad ass!

With a proper setup, the S15 is a track weapon, not just a drifting toy. I can't understand how they can state that there is no market for a track focused, affordable car. Japanese cars in general the pas years have lost their character, it has been all about "trendy & futuristic" crap for a while. I'm just waiting for that cycle to end.

My boy bought an S12..I had no idea what it was until I dumped the clutch at 4000rpm and power shifted( synchro-meshed for you tuners) through 3 gears and caught air of an small incline...I immediately understood what Japanese"muscle cars" were and started developing an appreciation for them.

I don’t understand what all the Japanese car manufacturers saying there isn’t a market anymore. Toyota has sold a heap of gt86 and are still making it since 2012. Mazda Mx5 is one of the best selling convertible in the world and people still buy the nd. If you class the r35 as “jdm” they still sell those for 10 years now. The only current jdm car that’s not going super well is the 370z which is a 10 year old car that looks like a car from the early 2000’s. What I am trying to say here is there is still a market and I don’t understand how car manufacturers don’t see people tuning their old cars. I own a 97 supra (the mk4 N/A cause that’s was the only one they sold here in Australia) and I purposely take to the Toyota dealership to get it serviced so they see people want a new jdm car. The gt86 will go down in the history books as one of the greats. But it great to see car manufacturers doing something about it. Toyota have brought out a Yaris gazoo (whatever it’s called) hot hatch and that’s a great car. Toyota bringing back the supra and even though most people know it won’t be as good as the mk4/3 it might be a cracking car. I really hope that Nissan will bring out a s16. A lot of other Japanese car manufacturers are having success with new generation of jdm so Nissan should see the same

I love my s14 -98 Kouki, Sr20Det. moderate trim @ 320hp. its a celebration nowdays every year. Bought it feb 2008, took it a pieces resprayed it, installed basically a full BPU and more. streetrace,trackdays, making dark rings appear in turnaboats since then, yes i love it since almost 13 years yaahaha. cheers Sweden

The fact about the SR20 and the S13 in europe is wrong. We never got the sr20 in europe, in fact it first debuted over here in the S14. Every S13 in europe came with a I4 1,8L CA18DET making 170HP.

My brother had S12 Silvia like 16 years ago. It got NA 2.0L inline 4 cyl. that produced around 140HP. I remember him saying that the car interior was crappy and made noses ans squeaks while driving at normal speeds, but when you pushed beyons 100km/h it suddenly became silent. Also he said car was fast and encouraged you to drive fast. It was cool ride it shotgun seeing those pop up headlights standing out from the hood. Car got sick silver/metalic blue paintwork which made it even cooler.

Ah, the good ole days when Datsun and Nissan were the best! Still my favorite cars till this day!

In Europe our S13 had the CA18DET engine. Not the SR20. At least in Sweden

The Silvia started life in the 60's. The original CSP311 was a coupe body slapped onto the Fairlady convertible chassis (we called them the Datsun 1500/1600/2000 in Australia not Fairlady). A few dozen of those Silvia's made it to Australia so extremely rare today. I had the 1600 and 2000 Sports not the coupe - they were great little cars - specially the high-screen 2000 Sports with 5 speed. You had plenty of the 1600 and 2000's in the US - called them the 2000 Roadster I think - even raced them.

I've had my 200sx RS13U (european spec, which comes with the CA18DET) for 14 years. I bought it from an 82 year old man, Mr Price, who stayed in my home town, Cape Town South Africa. He imported it brand new in 1992 from Belgium to South Africa. I bought it from him (I was the second owner from brand new) for R18 000 ($1158) in 2008, it had 78 000km (48 000 miles) Full service history, everything was OEM, including the rims, radio, sunroof bag, full tool kit and jack and some other OEM goodies from Nissan in Belgium. After 14 years of ownership, she still puts a smile on my face, hearing the turbo and exhaust sound. Looking at her all polished and clean always makes me think what a beautiful car that Japanese made. My 200sx still is OEM, with a full service history, original radiator, original shocks, original springs (never cut), still stock height, original rims, original midnight blue paint, the only upgrade i ever did to my car, was a stainless steel exhaust and T28/T25 turbo, original exhaust manifold, original injectors. She is making a reliable 158kws and 285nm. The current milage is a very healthy 184 000kms (114 332 miles) still full service history, i change the oil and oil filter every 5000kms (3100 miles). I had a 92 240sx hatchback, I was never a racer but just having RWD is a luxury within itself, the feel is incredible and car manufacturers know that but there is mustang and Camaro they have 4 cylinder engines nowadays that is classed as affordable, everything sporty is a lot money, even FWD which is crazy

I love how "officially" the S15 isn't road legal in the US but through a loop hole Adam LZ has a 950 horsepower, 3.4 stroker 2JZ, sequential gearbox drift weapon of an S15 with a license plate on it. Although it can only do a limited amount of miles on public roads that thing is baller
