You Rock Man, literally saved me thousands on the starter, fan clutch, & air intake I’ve replaced/installed the last couple years on my ‘04 Titan... Now about to check that cabin air filter.
Thank you for the video tutorial. I started getting a loud noise from my cabin a/c blower yesterday. I watched your previous video about replacing the a/c blower motor and was able to pull the motor and several leaves fell out. The leaves were making the awful noise, I cleaned out the blower and reassembled. Checked the cabin air filter and the air filters had been removed. Installed new air filters and now the a/c is working well and is nice a quiet. Many thanks you saved me a bundle of cash!!!
I just bought a used Nissan Titan and I thought the AC seemed a little weak. I then decided to check the air filter and took out the old ones. They were grey, almost black. Got some new ones and it was a huge difference. Finally feels like the AC works. Thanks for this short tutorial.
Very good video thank you, my suggestion means nothing since you mentioned stripping. On a job like this power tools are great removing screws/bolts etc. HOWEVER when putting back especially in this scenario of the screw hand tools and human touch are ideal. Great job keep up the good informative work for the general pub.
I have a 2004 Nissan Titan, purchased new in 2004, when I first changed the cabin air filters there was nothing there, Empty. Maybe Nissan finds it less expensive for them if they don't bother putting the filters in ! Also, my glove box has a stretch cable attached to the right side, I didn't see you remove one on yours. Mine is far more difficult to get to, I have to pry out the top piece with a bar. I can move the glove box to the left enough to get the one on the right but no way will it move enough to get the top one with just my hands.
Thanks, very helpful. So my 2005 didn't have any original filters in either, and I can say for a fact that I've never changed them, and I don't think I've ever let the dealer do it since I bought it new. I wonder if these are missing from the factory, or if it's the nissan service depts doing it? Anyone else have theirs missing? 3 times makes a pattern.
I have a 2009 titan that I bought brand new so finally I discovered I there was a cabin filter in 2022. Yes a bit slow but after watching this I decided to change it. So I followed the instructions, they were almost right. Any I find out there is no cabin filter. There is a place for filters but no filters. So they were ever put in from the factory
Question, just had my cabin air filter replaced as part of a 100k mile tune up. My mechanic says it didn’t have a filter in the cabin air filter slot when they went to replace it. They placed a new one in. Now the air doesn’t blow as hard as it did before. Is this normal?
gemmint77 Generally speaking, the arrow should be on the outside where you can see it and pointed down, in the direction of the airflow. Having said that, some filters made in other countries will reverse that and make the filter so it needs to be installed with the arrow pointing up, with no labeling on the package to indicate which direction it should go. Installing it upside down might make it clog up faster, but considering 99% of drivers don’t even know this filter exists and never change it tells me it would probably be fine upside down. Some filters are a specific shape and only fit one way. Many are like these and could go either. If it bothers you to not be sure then buy genuine oem filters that you know have the arrow pointed the right way.
I have a base model 2005 and always thought it didn't have the filter. I opened up the access door, no filter inside and I'm the truck's only owner. I guess Nissan tried to save a few dollars on the cheaper models.
😂 I paused the video when removing the glove box and took my cap off. Low and behold I don't have cabin air filters! So I figured okay, I'm going to put it back then and just finish the video for the heck of it, pushed play and there you go removing your cap, "someone actually removed the cabin air filter and didn't replace it... " Haha. Is it common to remove them all together and why?
None in my 2005(original owner), I think the factory didn't put them in some titans because it wouldn't make sense for so many different service depts to forget.
Aaron Hines I was reading and a lot of people say the arrow on filter is direction filter should go. This side up basically. When I put my hand in with filter air is blowing up.
I am 99% sure that no one took the filter out, it came from the factory with no filter. I just "replaced" mine and I was really surprised that there was no filter in there. I purchased the truck new. 😳😳😳
Can you help me figure something out. On the driver side if my armada. When i start the truck, and clicking noise starts to happen. Clicks about 20-30 times then it stops. Same when i turn it off.
Yes that’s a temperature blend door motor. It’s located above the gas pedal and is held in with 3 5.5mm screws. You can get one at Oreilly, Napa or autozone. I’ll try to make a video soon
The glove box retraction cable and the two hinge pins at the bottom need to be removed properly. Also, my truck came from the factory with no cabin air filters!
