In today’s Autogefühl's episode, we present you the Nissan X-Trail (EU) or Nissan Rogue (US) in the recent facelift iteration. Also, we are comparing it with the Nissan Qashqai or Nissan Rogue Sport which we have driven most recently. Consumption with the X-Trail 2.0 diesel: 7,5 l / 100 km (quite a lot if you consider we had 6,5 l with the Qashqai turbo petrol).

Great Reviews of Qashqai and X-Trail, Thomas, many thanks. No footbrake/start interlock! No petrol automatic (it's actually a CVT) available on X-Trail. We always like the "a.k.a. Thomas Driving Lounge"! Lack of SCR is interesting in itself. Also Nissan does not do well in independent on-road NOx tests with diesel or petrol.

Another excellent review Thomas, have been watching your show for years to help me pick a sports car. Finally settled on a Nissan 370Z nismo. Such a great car and good dealership support I will seriously consider this XTrail as our family car replacement. Thanks for the help man, stay safe 😁

Autogefühl I know you never reviewed a 370z but I knew exactly how to look for the important aspects that mattered to me personally by listening to your style of detailed commentary. Good review and finally a decent colour. I like the X-Trail but I hope they have improved the middle seat in the back. It hurts to sit on it as the seat belt fastener for the right seat is too high and close. I didn’t buy one for that reason.

In the US this was the number one selling non-pickup truck vehicle for the 1st 3 months of 2018. Also in the US for 2018 they have Applecarplay and Androidauto standard on all versions. They stopped selling the 3 row version in the US.

The Ford Edge is one size larger and more expensive. The Ford model the X-trail/Rogue competes with is the Escape (Kuga in Europe). The problem with the Escape is that the interior space is much smaller, the fuel mileage with the US engines is poor and its selling price is significantly higher. Just in the US for 2017 the Nissan Rogue sold over 100,000 more units than the Escape.

Ergonomically, pulling towards yourself should result in more acceleration power. Therefore pulling must switch to lower gear. BMW accidentally had it reversed years ago and they switched it as soon as customers complained. It has stayed the same for decades.

I came across this video while trying to find out why the North American Rogue has a different name elsewhere. Wie komisch! Your presentation style was so enjoyable that I subscribed. A very thorough and unbiased look at this car. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on all versions in Canada. Are they available in European models now? The distracted driving penalty in Ontario starts at $1000, 3-day loss of licence, plus higher car insurance for the first offence.

Why is everyone using the same front fascia..ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!😡😡😡😖🤯 💥. The same spin on the Dodge Charger grill. Honda adopted it, VW is doing a similarly version and here Nissan is doing their version of it. It’s not an attractive design, where the incorporate the headlights into the grille and have that double bumper with that cutout in the center. How did that become a trend and why do designers just copy each other.

Pulling back to shift up would be my choice. But that’s maybe because I’ve watched them do it that way in racing for a long time. I had a test drive in a Smart Fortwo Brabus (I wanted the Smart Electric but they only had that one available that day). And it was the first time driving a car with paddles that wasn’t in a game. And I quickly realised that I would probably never use them unless I was on a racetrack.

I have tested the previous versions and find very strange thing with the seats. If you choose the regular non electric seats, there is more room for the back passenger than the electric leather seats. The dealer did not believe that and I pulled a ruller to show them it is true. So another benefit for the cloth non electric seats - more room for the second row passengers.

NO-GO - All versions fail EU 6c completely, from September 1st onwards they can't even be legally registered in the whole EU. The gasoline versions have particle emissions multiple times higher than the EU limit for diesels since 2011 (!) Soon it will face new regulations it fails to match and lose value. And Nissan's diesel engines have Nox emissions far above the limit in all real world tests.

Hey Tomas 1 questions. I’m beginning to look for a new car. I’m looking in to Skoda Kodiak style and Nissan X-trail Tekna. Both cars are fitted with automatic transmission and high spec. What would you prefer.

I think the best thing is to drive test both cars. Just as an opinion, infotainment system on the Skoda is better than on the Nissan. I didn't like the position of the infotainment screen in the Nissan, I felt it was positioned too low, which may be risky to look while driving. Other than that you have to look at size comparison, also in the drive test, look at insulation in the car and if you want or not AWD, because I think there is no AWD with petrol engines on the Nissan, only with diesels.
