Hi mate, love your reviews. They are very informative and very well put together. Can you please make a comparison of all medium sized 7 seat SUVs such as outlander, xtrail, CRV and whatever else is available in the market? Thanks.
As always Tom, great review. Just rented the X Trail last week for 5 days in QLD. I'm very impressed to be honest. Drives really well on the hwy and great around town. Traveled with 5 people and 3 large luggage bags with ease. Transmission wasn't the usual jumpy CVT self around town as most others are. Great car / SUV. PS: Steering wheel is awesome. Don't change it Nissan. Cheers.
Nice review Tom. I wonder why most people buy the 2.5 petrol when the diesel has similar kw but 40% more torque. The turbo diesel also reaches higher torque quicker and have a flatter torque curve than the petrol, which is nicer for city driving, overtaking and when loaded to the rafters on the family holiday. That said, I would take the petrol if I got a good deal.
I own a 2018 Ti in white. Its probably the last one ill ever buy. Its just not very refined. Its suspension is too hard to the point where ive been bounced from the seat over bumps. Its supposed to be a luxury model but nissan has obviously forgotten to tune for rough Aussie roads. Forget driving on gravel. The car just rattles and shakes. Steering is vague. On the freeway it doesnt return to centre properly. It requires constant corrections. The gearbox has a mind of its own. It just seems to do what ever it likes. Mine has a knock on cold start, its low oil pressure to the vvt solinoid but nissan isnt convinced. This car is ok if you have no idea about how a car should be and are happy to drive to the supermarket and back. The CVT is rubbish. End rant.
I looked up there are so many models of X-trail, no idea which is which and what features :/ Should be 3 models maximum, standard, medium and well done LOL
Peugeot reliability vs Japanese I will any day take a Japanese car. Definitely cx5 is better than x trail but again styling is very conservative in a cx5
Sole USB port: 違います!! There is also one in the boot to the right as you open it ;) That is if we’re talking cigarette lighters and not actual USB ports...
I am glad seeing you showing more as you speak.... however if you are interested to be more professional I suggest watching Alex on autos channel, cause he is the best in car review i know. Thumbs up :)
I struggled with this segment, a lot of choice and I drove a lot of cars, the 3008 was a lot of style over substance. the interior was undeniably more modern, but I don't think it drove particularly well, felt small inside, slow response from the engine and gearbox combination, no AWD and the sound synthesizer in sport mode is horrible. The XTrail may not be class-leading in a lot of areas, but it does most things very well
