I’ll never forget the two shows I’ve seen her play with Alice. She has so much energy on stage and is so awesome to watch her play this live. One of my heroes
I love this girl, shes the only famous guitarist I've seen do a lesson that's not just showcasing their skills and only catered to the more experienced players, OK it's not a beginners song, but the guys who have been playing a few months to a year should be able to follow this!
Lol oh Man .. You get excited very easy lol. And this isnt even True Not only many Famous Guitarists But Legends who changed the Music History did Lesson Videos. And Nita Strauss is Famous but Not a High Rated Guitarist.
Supernatural 9R who cares? She makes a living doing something she likes best. She has an audience way bigger than most of us will ever have. And she is clearly willing to share how she plays here. If you feel being superiour, please also start teaching, so all us humble guitarists can also learn from you.
THIS WOMAN IS A W E S O ME SHE DOSEN'T WELL ISN'T REALLY THE TYPE TO BRAG ABOUT HER GITUAR PLAYING SKILLS SHE'S GENUINELY INTERESTED IN MAKING PEOPLE BETTER GITUAR PLAYERS UNLIKE THOSE WHOM YOU MENTIONED ARE LIKE YES I DO REALIZE I WAS BEING SLIGHTLY REDUNDANT🤏..BUT EH OH WELL🤔🤷♂️🤨..!!??
I feel so privileged having the opportunity to watch a guitar lesson for my favourite Alice Cooper song by Nita Strauss herself while also being able to watch singing lessons by Floor Jansen. What a time that we are living in. Either way: It was such a cool move by Nita to make this lesson! Chapeau!
I spent 2 hours watching Nita Stauss play last night on your tube. She puts the fun back into the music. Great attitude and makes it fun. Its all about the music and jamming out. She has a new fan here.
THANKS FOR POSTING THIS 🙏 and a huge thanks to Nita for doing this! She kicks so much ass... I love that main riff so much that I had to learn it lol. I also learned that she changes it during the chorus so yeah!
My first two concerts was Alice Cooper at Mesa Amphitheater back in 1990 and Arizona State fair 1990. I’ve been a fan every since. I play his music on my play list while I build jet engines at work. I remember buying his Trash CD at Zia records for $0.99 for a promotion on 98 KUPD. I had to wait about a week because they sold out! On a side note... I missed meeting him and Johnny Depp at Paradise Valley Mall by 20 minutes while buying colognes. The lady that helped me pick out cologne told me Cooper likes John Varvatos, (I heard of Varvatos but never tried it)and introduced me to a new favorite cologne... Dark Rebel.
I really with you you guys did tutorials like this you added downloads for that tab .. obviously this is who you want to learn the song from , but most of the tab for this around the Internet is wrong ... and having the sheet music is a benefit to learning
You are so awesome Nita! Thank you for this most excellent Christmas Gift. I love Alice Cooper and can't understand why you haven't come to Portland OR. Saw Alice in Mass several times but never with you. I remember wearing out Goes To Hell and Welcome to my Nightmare in the late 70's, in 1991 you had two shows worth seeing in Boston. Alice Cooper Poison Tour and Motley Crue's Dr. Feelgood Tour, of coarse Metallica's Snakepit tour was cool too. I've been working this song for a week now, old masterpiece I just wanted to revisit. Thanks!
Hello. The thing I like the most of this tutorial is showing the left hand from the point of view of the player. First time I see that, but it is a great help to understand how to play the song. Great!
I mentioned that she was famous "because she is a girl". I think I was out of line, because I'm watching this video while learning this song on guitar as I speak. So thank you Nita, I appreciate your "free" content:)
You have an interesting way of playing oarts of the song an the solo. i know that's not exactly how the guy who made it up played it on the record for sure but it's a good job.
im not just saying this because you are gorgeous because that would be sexist and im not but you are a great teacher its easy to follow your fingers so thankyou and its cool getting it direct from the player who makes a living playing it for alice coopers band.
Sometimes famous guitarists will show how to correctly play their classic tune. Cause they're tired of hearing it done wrong and who could blame 'em. I'm not talking about her, she's Alice's gigging girll
If you want some SERIOUS guitar tab for Poison check out the guitar tab video I made about it, I'm sure you won't regret it, btw about this video right here, it sounds like they did it all on a rush, also it's her own way of playing the song, it's far from the original recording but well..
On a tangent, there were no lyrics to be found so we listened on our tape recorder n took down the lyrics straight from the cassette. The only error I made was, instead of venomous I thought it was very much😂
Yes. But if you want to play it the original way (studio version) use standard tuning. She does it the way they do it live, which is tuned 1/2 step down.
The ascending lick at the end of the solo is nothing at all like "if you want to do it like the record." No clue how you can reach this level of musicianship without ears lmfao
Nita is great but she's not playing the main riff in the correct position. If you search Tempt Poison you can see John McCurry who wrote it play it correctly.
There’s no such thing as the correct position. She plays the exact same notes but in a more favorable position to play on with the rest of the song. Might be that it is easier for the other player to play in the other position because he has a shorter stretch with his pinky, but that doesn’t make one position more correct than another 😏
I'm not sure what you mean by main riff, but it seems that in the Tempt video McCurry is just tuned a full step lower so he is playing two frets higher, there's a good closeup around 23 seconds. Nita is at 5 and 7 when McCurry is at 7 and 9 and so on. Or am I missing something?
@@czgibson3086 Of course they sound different, but not enough of a difference to notice when you're rocking to it. What is it with people wanting to play EXACTLY the same fret as another guitarist? Does it make them feel closer to them somehow??? :P
Yeah its supposed to be in standard but a lot of times artists do the live versions in a different key than the original. If you listen to Alice voice in this vid you will hear it's a half step lower. Why they do this I don't know...
@@CrystalRoseGuitars 1 reason is that when people age it's easier to sing lower than the recording, so the instruments are tuned lower to help the singer. And 2nd reason is to not change instruments often during the live shows
