@@TheFossilChannel Thermal throttling on 240 lumens? There should be no measurable current drop after a few seconds unless there is a short. More likely a bad switch.
Are you using a high quality non-rechargeable battery? Some rechargeables don't put out enough volts and amperage to run some equipment even though they are rated for it. This unit might have a sensor that detects voltage drop and goes into power save mode. Just a thought. Mine works fine with a standard Duracel AA. If it keeps doing this then it's defective. Return it.
i use eneloop nimh batteries and the high mode stays on for a longer duration. You also have to consider the temperature of the environment as well as some light may have thermal throttling circuitry.
@@mattblack118i assumed he was asking about 3.7 volt batteries. thats correct energizer lithium works. Personally I prefer rechargeable nimh eneloops.
