@@TheFossilChannel Thermal throttling on 240 lumens? There should be no measurable current drop after a few seconds unless there is a short. More likely a bad switch.

Are you using a high quality non-rechargeable battery? Some rechargeables don't put out enough volts and amperage to run some equipment even though they are rated for it. This unit might have a sensor that detects voltage drop and goes into power save mode. Just a thought. Mine works fine with a standard Duracel AA. If it keeps doing this then it's defective. Return it.

i use eneloop nimh batteries and the high mode stays on for a longer duration. You also have to consider the temperature of the environment as well as some light may have thermal throttling circuitry.

Lithium batteries work fine.

Anything rated as AA and 1.5 volt will work. I would recommend Energizer Ultimate Lithium for emergency use or long term remote use.

​@@mattblack118i assumed he was asking about 3.7 volt batteries. thats correct energizer lithium works. Personally I prefer rechargeable nimh eneloops.
