Question, I'm setting up for this right now and am going to use 100% nitro. I'll have 2 IN posts on the keg, one for nitro and one for C02. My question is should I keep the nitro line on all the time or just when I'm serving? I will keep the CO2 on all the time at a low pressure.
Great vid & info! Particularly the bit, on "undercarb" for the sake of the nitro. I've served on beer gas in the past with stout faucet, however, I recently shortened my draft lines. 30-35PSI serving seems overkill for a draft line under 4-5 ft. Any suggestions or thoughts?

Great info! How long typically would a 5 lb beergas tank last? I have tried to use my nitro set up a few times and have found that my 5 lb beergas tank (160$ fill) only lasts 1 keg. I've soaped all the fittings with no found leak. Does anyone else have a similar issue. I can get 7-8 kegs out of my 5lb CO2 tank.
Hmm... clearly something is wrong. I used my nitro cylinder to purge kegs and I got a about 7 or 8 kegs purged after serving two. How are the seals at the regulator/cylinder connection?
Thanks for the info on how long yours lasts. All seals seem ok. I’m going to replace the regulator. With the valve off at exit of the regulator and the tap closed I can see the gauges slowly decrease. So…. There may be a leak at the regulator that isn’t showing up with soaping??? Weird
So, if you pressure ferment, then just set the spunding valve to 5psi, and let it go. What about serving from the same vessel? I use corny kegs to ferment and serve out of. Any issue with that? Or is it recommended to transfer to a clean keg. How long should I have the beer gas on it before it is ready to serve? Or because I have about 5psi of CO2 already in the beer, do I just hook up the beer gas and serve?
I want to get into nitro, but in my apartment space is limited. Is there a good way to do this on a smaller scale? Im thinking of a smaller tank, like a sodastream size, and mini nitro regulator?
That could work, although my coworker at NB says the larger tank will quickly pay for itself when it comes to filling or replacing smaller cartridge style nitro injectors. I've read that with the 100% nitrogen setup, as the keg begins to deplete, the CO2 will come out of solution to fill the headspace and eventually the beer will become flat. This isn't the case with beer gas I guess as it's being topped up. Is there anything that can be done to prevent this? I.e., a carbonation lid with a 4-5PSI CO2 line & then a 30-35PSI N2 line?
