I’ve had the same issues lately with a pair of 2.5s and a 3.3. Watch closely with the rear cover off, you’ll find that noise you were hearing is the connecting rod catching on the edge of the clearance journal. Normally I don’t comment on videos, especially since I enjoy your channel. However, I just wanted to pass on what was causing mine to do the same thing. Later I found that the internal crankshaft bearing wasn’t fully seated. All three engines came that way directly from Traxxas since the engines were brand new in boxes from a recent shipment to my local RC shop.
Love the comments about common sense,I agree fully the other thing that's missing in this hobby is mechanical sympathy especially for nitro engines over tightened everything is common as fXxx
Thanks for another great tip man. My new 3.3 is very tight and it did the same thing I just didn’t have mine get stuck. It hasn’t run yet though I’ve only spun it with my fingers.
@@rcsendandblast1579 lots of preheat definitely helps im gunna put the original cylinder head back on the dynamite one cools to well lol hard to keep the temperature high enough
heat gun is a good alternative to a head warmer its what i use at the race track about 2 minutes before i race, i blast it to 200 degrees F with the heat gun, and then fire it up and idle until its time to hit the track. works like a charm
Great video man I have a revo 3.3 that’s only a year old i broke it in already and drove it a lot but then I had it sit inside for a couple months with fuel inside that got gelled up since I didn’t know because I’m new to nitro it primes good but won’t stay idling should I clean out the motor
Yes you probably should I have videos on how to clean your fuel system for doing any damage as well as how to clean out your engine too which usually fuel which usually fuel the methanol absorbs water and becomes extremely corrosive and can do a lot of damage
Just starting Tank 2 of my 3.3 break in Adam Drake method, and it was doing amazing 210 degrees and was almost done the whole tank and it shut off and got stuck at TDC, and had to get a rag on the flywheel to force it to get unstuck, will this hurt the sleeve at all?
How do i find the right replace ment conrod and piston for a discontinued engine im cinda new to this I have a mgt 8.0 ive had it for years and never don anything like this just started learning about the parts
The 8.0 engine has been out of production for almost 15 years now. No parts available. Best is to clean up the old engine put it on the side and buy a force .46 engine off ebay.
I had this happen to my new 3.3, shut it off and I was actually going to rotate it to bdc but I went alittle to far so I needed to turn the crank some more but it cooled off enough before I could do it and bam seized, I had to take the exhaust off and use both thumbs and even then it was tough.
Just got my 2.5 stuck at tdc I shut it off and forgot to roll it to bdc before it cooled. Any ideas why I get occasional bubbles in my fuel line going to the carb when running? Thats not normal is it?
It happens. It's a easy fix and air bubbles are from a air leak or low fuel in the tank or Is because of surface tension of the fuel. Some worse then others it seems
I put lock tight on the back plate behind the pull start is that not needed or is that something you can do? I noticed you didn't do that, I started putting locktight on the screws for the back plate after it came loose one time after a crash
@@thebug4046 ok thanks man I'm a little new to nitro still so I'm trying to find the right information to learn and your content is really cool and I learn a lot so, I've got a kyosho inferno st us sports with a alpha a in it and it's been really cool and fun
Hey bud I have Slop in my novarrosi rex legend 28 8 connecting rod. The part number is 07800 and they are nowhere to be found. Do you know of a replacement that would fit?
Oh man that might be a tall order. I can suggest checking ebay daily and maybe getting ahold of RB Mods I know he had a ton of novarossi stuff laying around. I know that nova has a made a comeback in the last years im gunna guess they will have a cross over rod from another model. I'm not sure if you are in the Nitro RC enthusiasts group on Facebook im an admin in their. Pop in and post up the question I bet you anything you will find what you're looking for. 💯🍻
@@TheNitroAddiction no worries buds hopefully you find it! But like I said try the Nitro RC enthusiasts group lots of people that know where to get stuff 💯
Wasup, i put a brand new piston/sleeve and rod in my os.12tr, i still have a play on the crank, is it normal to have it? Is it for the oil to pass in the hole? Thanks
@@thebug4046 yes you can not feel hit when engine is fully assembly, this engine was almost no time on it but last owner store it wrong and it was not seized but little rusty on the crank. I clean the crank. I did not take the time to chek it before and it blew... i learn my lesson. (Sory for my bad english)

@@ea7654 by spinning it with the glow plug in it will go tight then turn easy is normal. Pop into the nitro rc enthusiasts group on Facebook and post up i am admin in their. It's kinda hard to imagine what's going on with it
Thats what ill be doing my trx 3.3 engine got stuck when i went to turn it over the clutch moves less than 1 mm i think it might be conecting rod im hoping the piston is stuck and all i have to do is free it up it happened after the run in
@@thebug4046 i have a dynamite 28 that i will be using for the revo soon but im gonna wait till spring for that to help the engine break in nicely also got a sky engine heater for it imma heat it up to 200 degrees f and idle it for the first tank then im gonna run it very slow for 9 more tanks
@@thebug4046 when I break my engines in I richen the needle to as much fuel it will accept as I manually keep the engine at 210°F. to 220°F. ... Now, I actually have no idea if this is a good practice. But this is what I have done so far. And that means I did this on the one and only engine I have ever broken in. And you may ask what is my thought process or reasoning why I feel this is a good thing to do ? I believe it's best to try to send as much lube and fuel as possible for the first 2 to 3 tanks. But I could be wrong.
I bought a used one and it came with no receiver nor transmitter, I got it started but it hella over rev’d then just shut off. 😢 please tell me it’ll be ok 😂 nah but seriously 😳
Hey man it happens. I can't tell you much here but I'm an admin in the Nitro RC enthusiasts group on Facebook if you post up in their will be easy to get help with whatever is going on. Admin in dark sunglasses 😎
