Today I had the opportunity to test the K3 under fairly rough conditions:
my subjective opinion is that the K3 gains more dynamics in turbulent air compared to the K2. The brakes seemed to give me a little less feedback as they are softer than on the K2.
Pitch stability seems to be improved.
At full speed, the K3 feels far more stable (more on the track) than the K2. The question is what does stability mean? the rolling movements in trim in turbulent air seemed to be more dynamic on the K3 . You'll get used to it, and so did I after about 10 minutes and was able to let the glider fly.
The dynamics of the glider will ask you to always be active (body movement and brakes) otherwise he (or she) will throw you out.
I was a little worried about the strong tension on the B level at full speed and even more at half bar. The B-risers are extremely tight (in contrast to the K2). I couldn't feel any feedback. Surely someone can explain why it must be like this. I got about 20km/h + at full speed. The approach to the spiral dive is beautifully progressive. Ears are easy like on the K2.
Still, when I made the second flight with the K2 in even more inhospitable conditions, I felt at home again. It's all a matter of getting used to it (probably).
Thanks, Beni for organizing a testival
