Everything can be done on line, I took my photo with a iPhone and downloaded it to the website. Took one month. Everything is on line , now you only need to qualify with one and can include what you want in the paper work. With the class came the qualifications and the notarized. It's good to have the class, I wouldn't want someone out there who couldn't pass the qualifications, it's so easy now. Keep training.

FYI - PA LTCF is 5yrs for $20 and zero training requirements.

Most of the process you described is outdated, everything is online now. Also the qualification, you MUST draw from a holster, the old qual you did not have to, but everything else is "easier."

I just requalified last week , you do have to draw safely from the holster for each course of fire. You no longer qualify with a specific gun. They never even put what gun you use on paper. PA took less than 24 hours after I had my PCH

As a former New Jerseyan, I’m happy the residents can apply for a concealed carry permit. Unfortunately, New Jersey is still using back door gun control on its residents. Only a two year limitation and $200.00 for renewal. That is price gouging. I live in Pike County, PA and pay $20.00 for a five year license. Also,the turn around time from submitting your application until issuance varies from a few days to two weeks.

I have to give credit to the East Brunswick PD. Everything that I have submitted in relation to firearms has been handled surprisingly quickly.

I was born and raised in NJ. Lived there for 22 years, but never owned firearms there. I only knew about the process through my buddy that owned guns and never liked how you had to first get a firearm permit, then get an individual permit for each separate handgun. That’s freakin wild. I’m glad you guys finally got the CCW, but once again they make you run through so many hoops. HP’s are illegal?! Wtf. Haha, that is bonkers. So they prefer you just use FMJs lol. Okay! I live in commiefornia, and have carried since 2015. Our laws have gone back and forth with a good cause letter and covid has made everything online which is slower, but it’s not this extensive. But it definitely is a money grab. Their process seems more extensive than a federal background investigation. 😮 it’s wild. Does anyone know if they’re allowing out of state ccw permits? Non residents I think they call them

There is no more actual paper work. The application is all online.

I didn't need any paperwork notarized, one photo, from start to finish, only took 40 days. Got my carry permit on Nov. 3rd

I have the RPO , still got to do all the bullshit qualifications like on duty 2 times a year , I'm old and fat and retired so I am not doing traffic stops LOL main thing is paying your tribute money to the state to get the permit

if you go through the NJ FID/CCW process as a non-resident since your now a CO resident, make a vid!!!! i am curious your thoughts on taking firearms through TSA checked luggage into NJ since you have family. i assume you would at times visit NJ and may bring your firearm(s). I read online that it is a scary/risky thing to bring a firearm into NJ that can potentially land you a felony if you get the right cop, and at best land you thousands in the hole in court costs even if you did everything right. and i hear that there are a lot oft these "right cops", especially the port authority cops that are at the airport. CO doesnt require license/permit to purchase a handgun and carry it in a locked inaccessible container in the trunk. would you need an FID to do this in NJ if you visit? maybe a CCW? idk....

The county am in, S. Jersey they are ok one qualification for any similar gun you want to carry. Other county’s are not ok with that, and that’s a big problem and confusing.

Crazy that you need a license for our 2A rights imagine if people needed a license that cost ~$450 every two years for the right to practice their 1st or 13th amendment! This is completely unconstitutional when I was a Florida resident prior to constitutional carry it took 6 hours to get a license of course NJ didn’t honor my Florida CCW Permit when. I was living here during the summer months! Now I am back in NJ full time due to family commitments and it hits hard how many of our constitutional rights are taken from us in addition to an abundance of money grabs and additional nonsensical taxes!!! I hate NJ!

some places charge more than others . $200 for use of force class by itself is a bit much . Some places are taking advantage of the process .

I am not trying to be a smart ass know it all but you guys are way behind on the process of getting your CCW in New Jersey and for the father. I hope he re-qualified before the December 31 2023 deadline.🇺🇸

Lots of old info, and some bad advice on holsters and carrying... Critical Defense isnt hollow point, it behaves like one but it isnt. People if you are going to carry, please, take the right courses, practice, carry the right way with the right holsers, do not put a handgun in your hoodie while taking the garbage out, be responsible and always, always secure your gun. Do not drive around with your gun in the middle console, it must be on your person. And join a good range where you can practice, drawing etc. If you are not going to train and be responsible do yourself a favor, and the rest of the world and dont carry. Carrying in the back is the worst way to carry.Typical turnaround now is about 6 weeks unless you have issues, and you can get both an FID and CC. Also many areas in PA are not doing out of state CC permits. Retired LEO fall under HR 218 in all states. If you want to carry high capacity in NJ as an LEO then you have to qualifty and get permitted.

My town police department is the worst to get or pick up the FID. NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING ,ALWAYS LOST OR LAZY TO GET THE JOB DONE. TREMENDOUS CIRCUS.

Sure, you can jump through the hoops to get a CCW permit. Let me know where you can actually carry it legally. Unless or until the current crop of law suits against the State get through.

What a fucking joke NJ is. I lived in NJ for 40 years and I don’t ever remember the option to carry. I never got into guns until I moved to TN in ‘16. There’s no gun culture in NJ like there is here and now I own multiple items and have my CCW which isn’t required here (constitutional carry) but I took the course and stuff only $50 an 8 hours in one day. It’s an absolute shit show up there for a constitutional right. Why are there not lawsuits challenging this BS and the mag law? And I wanted to move back to NJ at some point but now, living in a FREE(ER) state idk that I would with all the gun control.

Hey guys I'm retired and really can't afford 500 bucks for a permit plus 4 referrals is tough cause everyone I know passed away due to covid and the rest went to Florida so I got 2 friends and 1 of them hates guns so what can I do to protect myself and I bet there is more like me
