NJ councilwoman shot, killed outside her home

A councilwoman from Sayreville, New Jersey was shot and killed outside her home.
According to authorities, they received a 911 call around 7:22 p.m. reporting shots fired in the area of Samuel Circle, which is inside the Camelot at La Mer apartment complex.
When police arrived, they said they found Dwumfour in the front seat of her vehicle. She had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Me from the UK, my deepest condolences go to the family, friends, and co-workers of the victim 30-year-old Eunice Dwumfour, a member of the Sayreville borough council. One of the most rewarding, also dangerous jobs is to be a public servant. The Police probably already have a suspect but will spend their time in the early part of the investigation gathering evidence that will link the suspect to the crime. In the world we live in, where incidents of crime are on the increase, everyone must develop personal safety and security awareness.

It's not possible that they were actually committing those crimes at higher than average rates, so obviously the application of the law was racist. Besides, no one should have to carry a felony record or spend a year in prison just because they held up a Circle K at gunpoint or stole $800 worth of razors from CVS. No one got hurt, just let them go. It's not worth ruining a life over inanimate objects. The rich can just replace what was taken.
