I wish there was another way to deal with people, mental health issues included. If police have to discharge their firearms why not aim for an arm or leg? Why do they have to shoot to kill? That young white male was just killed outside Seattle during a traffic stop. I think police go too far in many cases, they take compliance through the roof like it’s a power trip for some of the. Not all cops are bad and I think many also react out of fear because America racial make up is so divided. There’s not a opportunity to learn that we all want petty much the same things in life. Everyone has their own neighborhood, whites over there, Latinos over there, Indians over there an so on. Communities should be more diverse in America because that is what America is suppose to be about then people want be so afraid of each other. I look at the comments here and feel so, so sad for humanity as a whole. How disturbing and disgusting the thought of some people to write such insensitive comments and they are not ashamed. They hide behind their screens and keyboard and make mockery of someone’s death or pain. What goes around will someday come around. It may be in a different fashion but you get back what you put out in the universe.

How. Man can still get a gun off the streets witch is not hard if your life is not sheltered , use a knife or other blades implants and that just what available, thats not include what he could have crafted him self. In middle eastern country's where Americans once deviated but is stabilizing people Cary guns openly and there fuw shootings. Children carry full auto AK-47 and there are no issues other than the US dropping bombs on em. It's a part of the culture it once was a part of Americans culture. Small children brought guns to school openly and there was never a shooting like you see today. Can't blame kids these days because there's examples of modern-day children not having this issue. In a country that most people would have considered a Savage place. So what dose that really say about the US here in the USA. Are we the real savages. Hoped off of SSRIs and toxic culture to numbed out to feel morals or responsibility.🤷🏽 Idk just to tuck are guns. Ses "shall not infringe" and that means what it means.

Why were police interacting with him in the first place? Had he harmed someone? Was a crime committed? Why are so many law enforcement interactions completely unrelated to enforcing any laws or solving any crimes? NEVER ask the police for help outside of investigating an actual crime. It is detrimental to your health. In the end it seems he was justified to fear armed tax collectors who’s sole mission is generating revenue. So sad. Despite a surprisingly low murder rate, New Jersey boasts a shockingly high rate of state sanctioned murder.

It's possible they were called to conduct a wellness check. Maybe they were called by someone who witnessed or heard him believing erratically. Perhaps they were called by the victim himself.

@@bronxkies All I am saying is perhaps people tasked with enforcing laws aren’t qualified equipment or properly trained to act as crisis managers particularly when their mode of operation is too often escalation. Maybe sending the very people for which they apparently well aware he was fearful of was not a logical approach to a crisis? All to frequently people are outright murdered (state sanctioned all be it) by completely untrained and unprepared LEO’s who fancy themselves interventionists. Public trust of these institutions has eroded completely for good reason. So I stand by my statement. Never ask the police for help outside of solving a crime. It is simply too dangerous.
@bronxkies
@bronxkies Год назад
@@8wheeledassassins. point taken but I have questions, if you don't mind: Who gets sent instead? If a social worker, what does training look like/include for them so their safety is ensured? What does training look like for the cops in the event a social worker is not sent? I’m not asking for a debate, I’m genuinely interested in what this would look like. From a personal perspective, I’ve dealt with my own “mental crisis” in which a wellness check was conducted. One lasted for about 15 minutes while the other about 2. In the first scenario, I was given the choice to go to the hospital after a conversation with them. I suppose having a social worker on hand would’ve been nice. Perhaps logistically it would be easier to fortify the psych training of cops and EMS workers, though. In a situation where the victim is afraid of the cops, though, I suppose a plain clothes detective or social worker could be sent in but, again, that person would probably need police back up if the situation involves weapons. They engaged with this poor young man for 2 hours, though. One has to wonder what transpired and ultimately led to his death.
@8wheeledassassins.
@8wheeledassassins. Год назад
@@bronxkies I won’t pretend to have all the answers but I will stand by my observations and judgements they generate. Sometimes knowing what NOT to do is as valuable as knowing exactly what to do. In an ironic twist of fate, and at the risk of doxing myself, it appears a shooting just occurred in a neighbors home. Happening as we speak so I am not sure. Here is what has unfolded so far. One dozen vehicles marked and unmarked rage into the area in front of our home (suburban block) lights blazing no sirens. Officers immediately take out pistols and high caliber rifles, and take cover behind their and civilian vehicles training firearms on the house. Zero barrel discipline, zero awareness of backdrops or bystanders. Of which there are now many as the whole spectacle draws people from their homes. After roughly fifteen minutes they storm the house, and remove a four year old child and his father in handcuffs. All the while wielding large caliber rifles and showing again zero level of discipline. Once the house was cleared, they then proceeded (and continue to) stand around, hands in pockets shooting the ish. About 45 minutes later I hear one female officer call out for a blanket, presumably for the four year old freezing and terrified in a police cruiser now terrorized a second and third time by police after already facing a serious trauma. Again a real time reinforcement of my belief that these are not the people we should task with managing crisis situations. Their behavior and approach is nothing but detrimental. Officer safety is always held in a higher regard than citizens safety, and the end result is unneeded tragedy. I am watching it now in real time without a bias of presentation.

@@8wheeledassassins. Wow! What a wild twist of fate. That certainly does sound like a horrifying and startling situation all around. I’m still not sure on where I stand on the situation, but I do think your perspective provides a nuance that I’m willing to entertain. I hope everything with your neighbor goes well. That poor 4-year-old will need counseling, for sure, and I hope he/she gets it for a sustained period of time.

After some time,,he decided to open the door,brandishing a knife,lunging at the officers who were trying to help him!! My son is a young cop,,guess what? I don't want to bury my son,,I don't want to see his throat slit by a deranged mental person,sorry,,,,,but I dont,and the loved ones of these crisis cops don't wish to burst their sons,either!!
