This video is about riding NJ Transit Atlantic City Line on Comet V cab car 6078 (pushed by PL42AC locomotive number 4015). It starts off from Philadelphia 30th Street Station and rides down the line all the way to Atlantic City. This train number is 4623 but left 30th Street approximately an hour late due to a previous train that was originally suppose to run as 4623 breaking down. Comet V cab car 6078 has a neat sounding K5LA.

Great video of the NJ Transit Atlantic City line. I remember back in the mid & late 1960’s when it was the Pennsylvania-Reading Seashore Lines Railroad when the entire line was double tracked. Passenger trains, charter trains, the Budd RDC cars, freights ran on it. The line has great potential to be double tracked again, promoted as a great alternative to driving from the Philadelphia area to Atlantic City, providing connecting service to & from SEPTA commuter trains, Amtrak Northeast Corridor & Keystone Corridor trains & the various attractions that Atlantic City offers.

How is the ride from Atlantic City to 30th Street Station? Is it fairly safe? I live in Florida and I am going to Philly in June but I'll more than likely be flying into Atlantic City because it's like $100 cheaper than flying straight into Philly. I love Philly.

Remember when the Speed line was built went from Lindenwold to Philadelphia only I was raised in Lindenwold but soon grew tired of the High Taxes and the long Winters just looking out windows at dead trees so in 1979 made the move to Florida and I have not looked back.

I wonder why NJT doesn't use a dual mode engine on this train? I mean this way the diesel fumes don't kill the people in the station.
