I needed this to cheer me up and give me confidence in the team, that's why i subscribed and then became a patreon member. Been moping around like a teenager that's just been dumped by his first proper girlfriend since seeing odegaard getting injured 🙈. Got a feeling that Arteta will go quite defensive. A lesson he learnt from when he first became our manager and he realised that he didn't have the players to play the expansive football he likes and we do have the best defense in the league. So let's lean into that and hit them on the break. COYG 💪

Always thought of MA as a Everton man. And always thought of him as a pretty good player while he was at Everton. Remember being quite pleasantly surprised and pleased AW saw something in MA and brought him in. It wasn’t a spectacular stint (don’t think he’s making the list on anyone’s AFC legend players) and was quite surprised that despite so, he felt such an affinity for the club. I’d like to think his experience with and of AW fuels so. MA had me at hello at his first press conference as head coach. Just by the choice use one of word - ‘culture’. It’s a tossed around in recent years as a throwaway buzzword, as a banal soundbite but IMO very few actually live by and know what the word means. IMO AW was another one of them. 8-8-5 isn’t great from a table position POV. When AFC was rock bottom, it was dicey and I feared the worse in terms of an imminent sacking. IMO it would have been a mistake but it’s hard to argue when the club is right at the bottom from the get go. Past the sliding door moment, IMO the faith, persistence, focus, belief has paid dividends. This IS the Arsenal. Winning is nice and perhaps important, but it’s not everything and not sufficient. Afterall, you could buy, dope your way to a trophy or medal. Everyone’s in it for different things but IMO the greatest thing about sport are the stories, the triumph of the human spirit, the awesome displays of human ability. AW believed in players. IMO this rubbed off on MA. Money has been spent but neither has AFC gone out to buy the Mbappes of the world. At one point MA and Edu were willing to pay over the odds for a young Ukraine lad who’s hardly been proven at the highest levels. United bought Casemiro from Real, AFC bought Rice from West Ham. MA’s not without fault or flaws, nor is he outside of criticism but there is something genuinely special happening here. It wasn’t there with UE IMO. When an Italian lad who could have followed his coach to Juve, who isn’t a boyhood fan, says look, take your time, I’ve got my bags packed and ready, I’m ready to sign..I think it’s indication that what’s happening at AFC is evident well beyond the bubble of AFC fandom and delusion. Someday, like all stories, this will end. At that end, I think I’d be glad to have been around to see the full arc of this story.

Raya; Calafiori, Gabriel, Saliba, White, Timber; Partey, Salah-Eddine; Martinelli, Havertz, Saka. With Timber inverting into midfield in attack and a back five in defense. Don’t want to leave White alone with Son and Maddison on the right hand side, where Spurs has its creativity. Young Salah will bring the legs to the midfield. He is such an underrated player.

Arsene Wenger was not an unknown; He won the league at Monaco - despite Marseilles corruption. He took them to the CL semi final. He had already been noted for his talent ID - George Weah publicly thanked when he got his Ballon D'Or. (may have been Fifa world player of the year). He also gave a 17 year Thierry Henry his first cap in Professional football. He was a left field appointment, and maybe in England, people didnt know him....but he was not an unknown

If, Jesus is fit. Jorginho and Partey in a double pivot with Jesus as the 10/Back up 9/False 9. He's a good dribbler, presser, and tracker. Then, sub trossard for Jesus at 65 min.
