Manchester City is an extremely tough opposition to topple. The consistency of this City machine is outrageous. For example, last season, the title was decided because of Arsenal's away lost to Aston Villa. The title gauntlet went down to the wire and was decided on the last fixture of the campaign. The Arsenal practically matched Manchester City stride for stride last season, yet they fall short. From my humble opinion, City's competitive advantage over the Arsenal derives from the deeper and better squad depth. Even after a major revamp over the past 3 seasons, the Arsenal still lacks the numbrs and quality to supercede Manchester City. They only have 22 senior members in their 25 men squad. The deficiency is both in quality and numbers. The suplus in requirement of Tierney not only occupies the wage bill but does not add to the quality of requirement. From whatever perspective we look at it, they should have signed another player in the summer transfer window apart from the 4 incomings of Calafiori, Merino, Neto and Raheem Sterling. From the lack of depth quality to the like for like perspective, this additional signing is critical for the Arsenal. Ideally speaking, they are 2 signings away from the complete revamp. Not unless their academy players, like Ethan Nwaneri can step up to fill the void.
Arsenal currently have a cover for every position on the field, so I will say yes, missed 7 players with 4 of those (Odegaard, Merino, Rice & Calafiori) arguably starters
I’m going to argue and say only Odegaard and Rice are guaranteed starters, Merino and Califiori have Partey and Timber as competition which is no drop off in quality
@@agamemnon730when merino is fit i really cant see partey getting minutes over him outside of rest, such a better player and can actually run + not a rapist
@@lachyburke914Merino, hasn’t played in this league yet whereas Partey has + the fact when he’s fit he’s world class player who won’t be losing his position it’s a team thing and Arteta trusts him so I think your chatting complete and utter shit. Heard your dad is pedo too does that mean it’s true?
Bergvall surely has to start against Coventry. I’d play gray in the 6 and Sarr to help with defensive duties. You wanted these players and they’re brilliant play them we desperately need to accelerate their development
to summarise; Arsenals squad may be deep enough to match man citys if man city wernt given home ties and an extra days rest just before to two teams play each other?
Arsenal are good but zi have been watching City. Arsalso have 5 very injury prone players and Calafiori and Timber yet to prove the will be reliable on top. Jesus looked fine for a bit after his knee so kets see abiut Timber 🤞. Calafiori had hsd soft tissue issurs to and msy just be accident prone goingby his frrak internsone. Hopefully wrong but don't see Arsenal squad as strong enough with all the games we have to play and the opposition in City. We also haven't played very well so far.
In short the answer is "No" It only takes you to look at the depth on the bench after the window closed when we played Brighton and Rice was sent off to see we are limited with attacking options. We can't hang our hats on Saka being able to play 40 plus games for the 3/4 consecutive season which doesn't include International games. Or Trossard coming up with important goals off the bench every other week. Martinellii who can't seem to find his form. And Jesus who is injured more than he's fit. We didn't have the depth to play on all fronts before we let ESR, Nelson and Eddie go... so we haven't got it now either. We are very very VERY reliant on our defence excelling again this season again but an injury to Gabriel or Saliba and we are compromised quite a bit
If you cant trust the players already in your squad to do the business, which players are you trusting then? Those not in the club? Trossard has shown undoubtedly that he can score at least 15 goals a season. Kindly explain why I shouldn't trust that he can come up with those numbers again? Man city wingers are currently not putting up those number. Yes, they have a cheat code in Halland, bit Grealish, Doku and others are not scoring much.
I think all teams should employ there former stars to coach n mold and help players like chleses could have Drogba come in and help the strikers like Jackson. Or hire them in a consulting role could help
@CharlesOdoch they've been very one dimensional so far this season so I'm curious what they'd do with Haaland missing. He's scored 9/11 goals city jsbe scored this season Pep is Pep so it's probable he'd come up with something that catches is by surprise so there's that as well like I said.
@@SenorjrjrIII Well City have some unproven players and youngsters and they have a lot of midfielders but they have no backup for Haaland and they have 7 defenders Arsenal have 9 defenders and two strikers So maybe they have a slightly smaller squad but they have more cover for each position while City don't have that...Pep famously prefers working with smaller squads anyways
@@onsideobsession5412 I suppose it depends on how you look at it. Both squads are intentionally small but I think City's is better composed with more adequate cover.
Player are very smart if same one in yallow already they are provogue that player and gets second yellow and yellow him self and PL Referring is amez amez amez
no its not dont care what anyone says no true backup for odegaard (trossard doesnt play there) no real backup for saka. And midfield gets thin once rice is out
You literally just signed Raheem Sterling so yes you have a back up for Saka. Saka, Sterling, Martinelli, Trossard and Jesus sometimes for 2 wide spots... Odegaard is true but unless you have a kid going through you are never gonna get one to sit behind him with no shot on getting minutes, City used Silva out wide and then when KDB was out he filled in and now Foden who did the same, so Trossard would fit that mould currently, but if not you need find someone who can play wide and play the 8/10 role Ode plays.
@@makei89 the way man city have foden, savinho, bernardo silva, doku, who can all play there. The same way man city can just bring in gundogan for KDB if he gets injured. Just read the bench of City's and compare it to arsenals its not the same level
Weird take. The people in charge loved Xhaka and absolutely wanted him to stay. They sold him for a fair price for a contract in its final year and for a player his age to a team he absolutely expressed he wanted to join for it's project. Arsenal respected his wishes and let him leave. To make it seem like it wasnt a mutually respectful goodbye is disingenuous on your part
@@coolerdude42 Just saying, with Xhaka they win the title last year and this year. Talking about respect, Xhaka earned a third of the cash Partey and Rice get. You can blablah about love but the numbers tell a different story. Dude's wages was that of a rookie. No respect whatsoever and that's why he left. Also fans hyped bums like Guendo, Torreira and Ceballos while scapegoating Xhaka, also a reason he left. Yeah Arteta thought Rice can do what Xhaka does, he thought wrong tho cause Rice can't break the freaking lines for shit so they still rely on Chelsea reject Jorginho who also earns 3 times as much as Xhaka ever did. No respect! Now Xhaka has his titles and Arsenal is still waiting. Karma.
