I was part of the skins ..It was a completely awful experience. I joined for protection but had no idea my worst enemy was myown people. Yeah I got green lit because I refused to put in the most extreme of work. I was going home very soon. Thankfully i got a transfer and was released the next month before the kite hit my new spot.

You probably felt an affinity w the Raza due to being southern european, you speak a latin language and you're from a catholic country. You have more in common w a latin american culturally than w an anglo saxon american. Most of us mexicans are a mixed people (native american/european) and most of whatever european blood we do have is spanish. Some of us also have french from when they were in mexico. We have a lot of influence from southern europe.

I was a prospect for NLR, but at the time they just became validated, in the late 90’s. They were suppose to have put a cap on recruitment, but a lot of yards were not adhering to the call. There was a documentary on the AB and NLR dropouts and they had women that were latinas. They said it is just prison politics not actual racism, they even did stuff with some black friends on the streets but in prison had to stay clear of them.
