You need to find a source of these specifications from China, as they don't seem to honor any copyright except their own. You probably have to do the internet searches in Mandarin to find them.
You don't have to look as far as China. Russian standard publishers sell the IEC standards in English for well below 100€ (download). I have no idea if that is legit / sanctioned by IEC, but they are legit Russian companies. The only problem is that they don't always have the latest editions available.
@@robertssmorgasbord I heard you say that in the video, but 100€ is still not low enough for me. I've only purchased one paper from SAE and it was $15 for 3 pages. It was on a low differential Stirling heat engine paper by Senf (I think that was the professors name). Otherwise, at work they paid the annual subscription to all these organizations. I don't think they paid for DIN, but I might be wrong. The only component I ever used with DIN credentials, was the white plastic connectors for PWB interconnect use. And I think we purchased them from AMP which had all the needed technical data in their data sheet. My metal lathe uses a 90mm metric taper headstock. I tried to find that standard, which is DIN a few years ago, just too much for what is a 20:1 taper (included angle) and it has a 90mm gauge line. The lathe was made in China, and the owner manual called it a #6 Morse taper, well that would just slip right on through the hole. I have no idea why they had such misinformation, unless that taper which is typically only used in Europe has a patent they didn't want to pay royalties for. I got that lathe as it has a 80mm hole through the head stock spindle. Uses D1-8 taper mount chucks. I just have seen so much bootlegged movie DVD, as well music CDs, and published music booklets from China. I've never been there, but friends that were in the US Navy (40+ years ago on sheet music) brought back these fine stolen works without paying for the copyright fees that would go to the publisher, artists.
@@f.hababorbitz Yes, you're right, 100€ is still to much for private use. But then, maybe NMEA, IEC and the likes don't really want privateers / open source people to implement (or god beware scrutinize) their standards. Anyway, I googled for IEC 61162 in simplified Chinese (国际电联 61162 - Google translate is your friend). I found one viable link, selling the IEC 61162-2 2001 standard for ¥498 (3,81€). The only problem is you need to pay via xinyong, alipay or baidu 😞
Don't worry. I never take videos down after I published them (there was one exception though). So they will be always there for your enjoyment, even if you missed one at the time it is published.
