For suggestions, I usually don't enjoy k-pop albums as a complete record if you know what I mean, so I would actually recommend pH-1 - But For Now Leave Me Alone (korean hip-hop). It's an album I enjoyed very much where he was able to use a lot of laid-back hip-hop he had been doing for his more experimental projects while also having some trendy/danceable songs and also including his sing-rap which made him famous. Idk if you enjoy this style though and it might not be the best for views... Take care!
We love a good and well-thought-out analysis for NMIXX. Honestly, it takes a great eye for minute details to be able to grasp their concept and sound. Yes, on a surface level, their sound isn't for everyone's ears. It might sound weird, jarring, or “all over the place” but what makes it special is they are exploring unseen and unheard areas of music and they just don't care if it's marketable or not. Music is expression, and they do exactly that.
I love the switch up at the last part of Boom. It kinda reminds me of ASAP by newjeans but more stronger(?) bcs of nmixx’s vocals. I’d love to hear your thoughts on IVE’s last mini album! A lot of people didn’t like it compared to their last album but I think it’s their most cohesive both concept and sound-wise. I love your content on tiktok but this is the first time youtube showed me your videos! Definitely subscribed!
@@JonathanMillerMusic i'm really hated the people didn't see how this girls so talanted and all rounder. But, people always make a compare with the another group.
@@hagatamapermana1834 I know. 🥺 That can be quite frustrating. Which is why I try to be a positive space in the Kpop Community for the most part. NMIXX is very very talented and I hope more people see that. 🙏🏼
I feel what differentiates passion fruit for any other song along on the same trend, it’s that even thought the instrumental might be a little simple and empty, nmixx’s keeps it full with their voices which I love
This is such a fantastic video. I have not always been a NMIXX fan, but at this point, DASH remains my #1 listened to song of the year. This album was such a strong offering and I really appreciate your breakdown of its genres and strengths! Your comments on the refining of MIXPOP and what it is for the group is spot of IMO - Dash is a brilliant example of keeping things relatively palatable while still pushing the boundaries of the sound
Wow congratulations on the video! I've just stumbled onto this and it's exactly the deep analysis that goes on in my head a lot of the time (although I always over analyze the business side of things because of my econ degree lol), but done by someone with much more repertoire of course. Please keep at it with these types of videos, I loved how it was honest, unforced, and actually very pertinent! Just subscribed!
Wow thank you so much! Welcome to the party :) I appreciate the feedback too, I'm glad you enjoyed it. What are your faves from the album, if I may ask?
Greetings! And thank you for your video on NMIXX! Honestly, though, I clicked on your video because of the thumbnail alone. So I was expecting yet another reaction video to FE3O4 but what I got instead was a really cool analysis of the album! Sure, it helped that you kept grabbing my interest by being constantly positive on the NMIXX girls and the production of the album... :)
Omg thank you! Actually that’s super helpful to know and helps me get better and helps the channel grow. Thank you for the feedback and I’m glad you enjoyed it! What are your fave songs from NMIXX?
@@JonathanMillerMusic Also, that you are being very active in the comment section definitely helped to convince me to leave a comment as well. :) From this "Fe3O4" album, after listening to "Soñar" and "Run for Roses" for weeks before the album released (and finding them really solid not only for NMIXX, but as kpop songs in general), I was getting really anxious on how "DASH" needed to be almost like even better than the pre-release for the whole album, and NMIXX, to gain more popularity in the mainstream. And I fortunately think that "DASH" does exactly what it needed to by having strong vocals throughout with a modern catchy beat, and lots of surprises from all the members vocally. Oh, and mixpop! So yeah, I was putting all my hopes on "DASH" and I think NSWER can sleep easy :) Now, from the 4 other "new" songs from the album (that weren't title tracks or pre-releases) I think I enjoy "XOXO" more, ever since I heard it a few months ago during one of their Fan concert. It's definitely the most "chill" track from the album, but Lily's singing voice caught me, along with the deep synth that goes off when she hits some of her high notes, at the end. Besides that one, "Passionfruit" sounds a bit more generic as far as kpop songs go, lately. But you're right in saying it's something different for NMIXX themselves, at least. "Boom" I had trouble vibing with, but since almost everyone else I read online says it's their favorite, I'm giving it the most re-listen time just to try to catch what I must be obviously missing :) "Break The Wall" is the perfect ending song for this album, with its more "anthem" sound. Kinda like "Home" was wonderful for "Expérgo" as well! All in all, I could just feel NMIXX's progress since last year and I just hope they gain more popularity and recognition, somehow. They sure work hard and saying they're talented is an understatement :) Have a great day!!
@@fecktor haha that’s wonderful to hear :) I know what you mean. I hadn’t heard Run For Roses because I knew I was gonna do this album review and wanted to be surprised but it ended up being one of my faves. XOXO is so great. Actually I feel pretty safe saying this is a no-skip record. All of them are pretty solid and I am enjoying it! ❤️🐋
I really loved your interview and yes I agree this album was a no-skip at all! I listened to all the songs top to bottom as well and girl I just had to order the album (and I did, still waiting lol) but my goodness this album was pure ecstasy !!
the album is an improvement! their RnB trap tracks like "xoxo" are so good and they suit jazzy reggaeton so much. I'm glad they've found a nicer sound as opposed to mixxpop.
