Regardless what is wrong with the program now, it is still the backbone of College Football. It brought college football to the national spotlight and it hasn't left since. God bless the Rock, God bless Leahy, God bless Ara... .....and God bless Notre Dame Football.
I'm a a lifelong UGA, I can't wait and look forward to us playing you guys in South Bend Indiana. I wanna go this game so bad it's a dream match for a regular season game. Notre Dame will forever be my dream opponent and there's no secret here. Without Notre Dame there would be no college football, they are the closest thing to the New York Yankees. UGA has never played in South Bend before and I'm not that far out from South Bend. I've seen a lot of those UGA games on TV, but never have been to a live and what better way to go to your 1st live UGA football game, than to be at one of the greatest places to watch a college football game at than in South Bend.
i hope you made it to the game. your bulldogs played a great game I'm just hoping ND can get a rematch in CFP. Notre Dame and Georgia seem like the only serious contenders to Bama this year. I dont think Ohio State Oklahoma or Clemson could really give Bama a battle.
I grew up a Colorado Buffs fan but have always respected the traditions of Notre Dame football. Rudy has to be one of my all time favorite sports movies. It's hard to believe Colorado and Notre Dame competed for National titles together. Those days seem lost in history.
Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy Our, Hail Our Life Our Sweetness and Our Hope. May the Souls of the Faithful Departed through the Mercy of God Rest in Peace.
Say whatever you wish about ND.... That it will never be that grand again or they'll never be the best again. Notre Dame really doesn't need to.... As long as college football is played in our country, Norte Dame will be always be the benchmark of the sport. Period!! GO IRISH!!!
@@MmmBeer I think as we move further away from the BCS and look towards playoff expansion, there will be a growing interest to reflect and reevaluate past older claimed titles
The greatest spectacle of that era must have been the Notre Dame vs. Army game in 1946. As I had stated previously, the two greatest fight songs in collegiate history are the Victory March and Brave Old Army team. No other music composed to arouse the human spirit has ever been rendered so beautifully!! In a class by themselves. The Corp of Cadets with fife music playing and singing in unison "On Brave Old Army team, on to the fray, fight on to victory, for that's the fearless Army way!!" UNREAL. Matched by the fanatical subway alumni and the Victory March. As a Michigan State fan, I am in no way a Notre Dame supporter. Still, the atmosphere of that game must have been like a giant electrical storm. Knute Rockne was many things. A shameless con man composing phony events to arouse a team. A promoter who could sell ice cubes to Eskimos. Most of all, the twentieth century's biggest sports figure. Who transformed a tiny Catholic school in northern Indiana into the very byword of collegiate football. For a sheer totality of history and spirit, nothing has matched Notre Dame. And nothing ever will.
