I’m sure 80% of the crowd reaction was Orioles fans, but I like to think some Red Sox fans gave him a nice cheer for his first at bat. I’m probably turning soft in my “older” age (34) but I like to see people making their debut get a nice cheer, and when they get drafted like in the NFL. There’ll be plenty of chances to boo if you feel like it later.

At least getting booed on the opponents' field in the bigs can be worn as a badge of honor. The cretins who boo a draft pick on draft night are the worst - as if they have any real idea whether a particular player will be successful or not at that point.

That could’ve been me too ever since I ruptured my C8 vertebrae everything went down hill. At the time I was hitting 100 mph with ease, and then the injury happened I wasn’t hitting them anymore. It’s the saddest point of my life that I contemplated on unaliving myself. It’s still a dream of mine to make it in the big leagues but I’m 29 years old now so that dream is done. It really is the biggest what if, maybe I would’ve been the GOAT who knows, and then skibidi toilet came out and I joined the big leagues my Name is Shohei Ohtani.

I love baseball but this highlight shows why it is tough for some to enjoy the game. This monumental moment for this kid on his first game and he doesn't even get on base. Most people would look at this highlight and think, "Meh"

I watched all his at bats. I hope they are not rushing him. Too many 1st rounders fail because they are rushed. He is way behind on fastball and didn't look very good on sliders. To me he needs more seasoning
