“How to re-establish trust in institutions” I eventually figured out the best way to change someone’s mind was to first ask Why instead of arguing for my ego but I’d never developed upon the idea. So I’d ask Why but then not know where to go. I was given a few keys here to complete the process. I could not be more glad.

Summary: This video explores how our identity shapes our actions and goals, and provides tools for changing our identity to achieve our biggest ambitions. Key points include: - **Setting Realistic Goals:** Avoid overly ambitious goals; instead, set realistic, year-long goals to stay motivated and successful. - **Positive Identity Framing:** Focus on aspirational identities and frame goals constructively to align with those identities. - **Shankar's Story:** Shankar's journey from violin prodigy to cognitive scientist underscores the importance of flexibility in identity. - **Identity's Impact:** Our identity is shaped by experiences and can limit our potential if defined too narrowly. Embracing a broader, more flexible sense of self can empower growth. - **Using Identity:** Leverage your identity to stay motivated and accomplish goals, but remain adaptable and open to feedback. - **Anti-Identities:** Identify behaviors you reject (e.g., being a non-smoker) to strengthen your resolve and achieve goals. - **Navigating Identity Attacks:** Use moral reframing and trusted messengers to present new ideas without threatening core identities. - **Rebuilding Trust:** Trust in institutions can be restored through thoughtful policy and empathetic, curiosity-driven interactions. - **Positive Habits:** Align goals with your identity, introduce flexibility, and maintain consistency over time. Great video! Loved the insights on how our identity shapes our actions and goals. Shankar's story was particularly inspiring, showing how flexibility in identity can lead to resilience. The tips on using positive and anti-identities to stay motivated were spot on. Also, the idea of moral reframing for navigating challenging discussions is incredibly useful. Thanks for sharing these powerful tools for personal growth and goal achievement!
