My mentor always tells me to read books not in the field of architecture in order to have a wider vision or insight on the whole world, at last we are dealing with different people when it comes to design the building. I guess this principle also applies to other professions. Good video Ashley!

Hi Bernice! You’re very welcome 😊 it makes me so happy to hear I made your day! You got this, nothing is impossible and it’s never too late. The universities mentioned are for masters which are accredited programs basically professional degrees that will allow you to get licensed if you choose to eventually get licensed. Start working on that portfolio! And keep me posted!

Thanks for another great video! I found this one specially inspiring since I’m seriously thinking in pursuing a masters in architecture with a non architectural bachelor degree. I find UBC’s and U Calgary offers very appealing, and I’d to ask your advice in how to create a portfolio since both of these universities ask for one in their applications. Again, thanks for your content, I found it a few weeks ago and it has been very useful and inspiring

Hello Ashley. I have a question. I'am a civil engineer back in the Philippines, and I am currently taking an Architectural Technologies diploma in Calgary right now. I am planning to pursue a Master's of Architecture but the GPA requirement for the international students are quite high, and I did not quiet meet that. Can I use my grades in the AT program instead when I apply in the future? Thanks in advance.

Super interesting to know that undergrad programs in Canada for architecture are not accredited. Does the states have accredited undergrad programs or is there a way for licensed architects overseas to come to Canada and get their license?

Hey Ashley. I have an Associate Degree in Architecture. I got accepted to Cal Poly Pomona for Architecture, but some of my professors advised me to not pursue a bacherlors degree in Architecture because it would be a waste of my time. I guess the reason they told me this is because I am a License General Contractor with many years of experience. I sure would like to know your input. Thanks.

Hi! I was also considering this! going into community college and getting an associates in architecture and transfering to cal poly or Berkeley or some other UC/CSU. I am also older and have a undergrad in art history and off to a decent career without studying architecture. I'm learning from videos like this and research that it all depends on what you think you need! and you end goal! I would like to get the associates and get into a bachelors and doing so would allow me space to develop. I think even with you License general contract you should still allow yourself to study maybe it will be a good change from what you already have going. But I get some professors want to give you practical advice, although only you know what's best for you.

Thank you for this, it's Insightful! I'm 30 as well, and have a family, and would like to get into home development. I've had a property management company for a few years, and know a fair bit about Reno's, and building, but not sure how to really move forward, or take a bigger step, into home development (engineer/design/anything else?). I think I'd like to get more into the development side of things down the road, and can see myself being very good at take a project from inception to completion. Would you have any thoughts or direction to point me in?
