I wonder if students majoring in architecture learn anything about sacred geometry? Do architects consider sacred geometry when designing plans? This book I read "Sacred Structures Harmonizing Architecture and Energy Flow" by Patrick A. Neal has inspired me to dedicate myself to learning more. Like why aren't the applications of sacred geometry more widely used? Why isn't it incorporated into the code books IRC and IBC? As well as why don't more books talk about the applications of the ancient knowledge step by step like the one I mentioned. Lastly what major textbooks do you all use?

My hand size is about more than 3 credit cards as per their sizing, I made a mistake on why the size didn't matter to me and bought myself the Anywhere 3 mouse 2 years ago (its super small on my hand), I'm a 3D modeler and inside those 2 years I have made edited hundreds of models and produced thousands of drawings using the small mouse Now this mistake has cost me my comfort of ever using the standard mouse again, my wrists hurt & numbs so bad. Sometimes I cant even open a water bottle. I lose the MX master functionalities but my wrists could not take any more abuse. Just recently bought the Vertical and sure is comfortable, less pressure on my wrist

Thank you, this video helped me see that there is a big difference between a licensed architect and a principal architect firm owner. What I like even more is that an architecture firm can be many, many different things and services.

For a video like this, viewers want to see lots of images of the architecture and very few, if any, views of the commentator's face. That is not what we get here.

The Pantheon in Rome lasted quite a long time before anyone considered maintenance. I was utterly shocked to find out that a lot of the buildings along the coast in Florida are steel reinforced concrete, a technology that puts a finite time limit on the life of such buildings.

On top of the roof with that leaning corner...just go up there and drop a plumb bob to your partner on the sidewalk below. That will tell the story of how much lean there is!

The '89 quake showcased soil liquifaction in S.F. . . . It seems that S.F. would have required that all buildings beyond a certain size would have foundations that rest on bedrock.

Purchasers of SFDs usually have a home inspection done for $3-500 . . . I wonder what a home inspection would cost for a flat in a skyscraper, or if it is even possible.

So a designer👨🏼‍🎨could partner with a structural engineer👷🏻‍♀️or an Architect of Record👨🏼‍💼(49% + 51% respectively) - - so long as the engineer or Architect of Record has a Certificate of Practice (is able sign off on the construction documentation + permits), yes? Anyone know if that is the same in USA?🇺🇸 (3:55 - 4:14 - 4:26 - 4:47 - 5:04) 6:05 - - Building Code Identification Number to do smaller projects/houses 6:29 - - Getting your license is a journey😊👍🏼👍🏼 - no rush!

I seen almost every house in Sacramento (Sacramento soil is mostly clay) the foundations being f'd up and these were little 1 story houses. Building a whole f'ing skyscraper on that type of soil is outrageous

The problem is being an architect is not cool anymore in 2024. There are lots of options now in creative fields such as Visual Development and Concept Art.

You are referring about lifetime gross revenue? That would explain the high revenue figure for Safdie, which has been around for many decades but does limited projects today. It would be even more interesting to know annual NET revenue divided among each of the sources of income. Thanks for you research. --RSC

University of Houston is my dream school. It’s the summer before my junior year and I’ll be attending a summer program they offer for high schoolers interested in architecture. Unfortunately, I can’t take art in high school because the teacher really doesn’t like my work. I took art 1 my freshman year but she was so mean towards me. I ended the year with a B. I feel like art class should be an easy A as long as you put forth the effort. And I definitely did. That class killed my gpa. So while I would love to carry on in higher art classes, I just can’t afford to have a lower gpa because I know that it’s hard to get accepted to an architecture major. I feel like a 3.87/4.0 (my current gpa) is barely enough to have a chance.
