Wow! 2 videos in 1 day, how lucky are we! I have never seen a van interior as neat as yours, Nancy; I never get tired of seeing it. I find your van interior calming and peaceful. Your van is like better than new! Your videos should be required viewing for every camping clutter bug out there. I really think you've unlocked the code on practical/accessible/intentional vehicle camping with no muss, no fuss, while having an inviting & tidy space to hang out. Cheers!

Great job showing the world you do not need to live in clutter to camp in a van. Thank you for the no frills, basic mode of using what you already have. So refreshing to see a low maintenance lifestyle video😊
Thanks for watching! And for taking the time to come in. It’s refreshing to me and life-giving to me realizing a little I need to survive and be happy and content.💯🙌🏼😃🩵
Put some 16 oz plastic water bottles in the freezer for the cooler, before you go. These larger blocks of ice keep cold longer and unless they split, they don't leak. You can use them to drink later. Heat a knife on the stove burner and make a slit in the cap of a liter water bottle and you can use it to wash your hair and body. Another wide mouth plastic bottle can be a pee bottle (don't mix them up ;). A damp wash cloth with a bit of soap in a zip lock or some wipes can help you keep yourself clean (the face, the pits, then the stinky bits). A TV tray makes a collapsible table. When boon docking, a collapsible chair and table give you an outdoor living room. A golf or beach umbrella can give you shade. A plastic table cloth will help at picnic tables (which can get gross), at rest areas and parks. A quick stop at a thrift and/or dollar store can round out the gear. Be aware, be safe, have fun.

It’s true to use what you have. I have a car and once I accepted that a van was not in the foreseeable future, I got my creative juices rolling. I actually slept in my car (impromptu) after fireworks…and I was 2 miles from home. I thought it was good “practice”. Fell asleep waiting turn traffic to clear and opted to stay there overnight.
I have a 2014 Grand Caravan. I laughed when you showed your usual layout since it is almost exactly the same as mine. I have the same cot and a modified bookshelf with a drop down table as my kitchen at the back. The only real difference between our setups is that I only have a small 12v fridge so it fits under the bed. I keep food in there and my Diet Pepsi in a cooler in the front passenger floor. Eventually I will upgrade the fridge and put it where yours is. I also usually leave the single back row seat up to give me a place to sit and to give me a bit of storage in the back well where the seat would be folded down.
Thanks for watching! That’s fantastic! I love my Coleman comfortsmart cot! It’s perfect for me! I have left the back seat up the quarter seat, small one, but I just don’t like the space it takes up. I’d rather put a chair in there and be able to move it around or get rid of it and use it for the outdoors. But it’s a great option! Have a fantastic evening! I appreciate you taking a time to comment.🙌🏼💯😃
I have 5 gallon bucket. Put the pellets in for storage. Put small 2 gallon in top that i use as toilet with lid. Makes it higher off floor for older person. 😊. Also serves as garbage can
@@RLeeVanCamps thanks for watching! All good tips, tricks, information! Love when we can use things and have multiple purposes for them! Sure is a way to save space! Have a fantastic day, and thanks for commenting.😃💯🙌🏼
Great reminders that it doesn’t have to be a full and fancy build! I’m considering a trifold chair/bed from Amazon so there is room for my dog’s crates while travelling.
Thanks for watching! Sounds like a great plan! I think those trifold mattresses are fantastic! Especially if you plan on having a floor bed. All the best to you! Have a fantastic evening!🙌🏼😃💯
I can't afford much so I bought a 1 owner 2001 Chrysler Town and country van no frills just some space. 1 owner 85k miles no accidents I have bought tires new oil pan new battery and change fluids having the time of my life very small but just me a 2 tiny dogs retiree next year so staying local this year for the learning curve van runs great

@@leaclayton3598 washing! I appreciate your support and your comment. Yes, that’s a great idea. I’ve done the same in the past. But it just takes up so much space when it’s up so I don’t do it very often! A fantastic week! 😃🙌🏼💯
If you freeze a ham or a roast frozen it works keeping your cooler cool. I slice as it defrosts for lunch or dinner. If you pair it with frozen water bottles you’re good for a long weekend. Thanks for the video.
I just found your channel.....I am 68 years old and am an avid camper....my hubby and I own 6.5 aces of woods that we camp on but I want to redo a van into something I can drive myself and just take off for a day or two.....or for ever how long.....thanks for the information....very helpful....will be watching updates...again, thanks

@@lucyclark704 thanks for watching! Yes, I love the fact that it’s 15 inches high and I can store all my things under it. Did you get the long one 72 inches? Or the shorter 69 inches?
@ModernDayPilgrim I'm in NZ so I work in cms. I'm 168cms high and I got the 182cm long cot so my taller hubby can use it on solo fishing trips. I have a Nissan NV200 which has just over 200cms from behind driver seat to back door.
For some of us leveling the floor isn’t a priority because we need to elevate one end of our beds for health reasons. Sometimes a “problem” can be turned into a feature! 😊
Yes, I have a portable toilet that I would definitely throw in, plus I'd have books, cards, etc., and a few basic cleaning supplies. I might even leave the bed uneven so I could raise my legs a little. 😁
Keeping things simple, our approach exactly! We are pretty sure we could layout our van in less than 30 minutes if needed! Always love the information!
Thanks for watching! Hope you guys are doing well and are having a fantastic time on the road! I actually have been thinking about you guys as I have been wondering if I should get one of those little cooking apparatus that you made a video on, the one you made popcorn in, lol! I just don’t know how practical it is and don’t really wanna have a thing that I’m not going to use. Do you guys use it regularly? Is it worth it?
@@ModernDayPilgrim Hi! We don't use any of our cooking items REGULARLY - it all depends on the plans -for the road trip we used an electric skillet & tea kettle the entire time - if we are camping, we use the Joulle - (That can run off of a power unit if necessary but it does suck a LOT of power!) and other times we don't cook at all. So, it all depends on how we are camping/traveling, what we use.
@wanderingoutyonder thanks for the quick response! Yeah, I just don’t know how much I would use it and of course the fact that it sucks so much power makes it not really efficient. It’s just another thing to store the only thing I like to keep on hand is my Keurig! I can run that on my Pecron 600 LFP battery. That’s been the bomb dot com I tell ya! Thanks for the info! Have a fantastic day! 😃💯🙌🏼

With me being overweight and disabled comfort for sleeping is key. I have all seats out except drivers. I have a heavy duty twin bedframe. And my heavier blankets folded and then a nice 3inch foam mattress. I have a light dresser with cloth drawers so it can hold alot plus under the bed. I have a small fridge just for my insulin. I have a mobile wheel chair and finally a carrier. Thats the only thing that needs to be charged. Plus my two lil dogs.
Thanks for watching! Looks like you’ve got it. Definitely figured out! Fantastic! Being that you’re disabled, enable to work with that space in your van to make it good for you, that’s exceptional! Kudos! Thank you for taking the time to comment! Have a fantastic evening💯🙌🏼😃

I have the same van and I'm trying to decide on a mattress on the floor, or a cot/platform so I can have storage underneath. I'm thinking of using the second row passenger seat a chair in the back and a camp chair for outside. I want to have enough for max 5 day solo road trip/camping trip without needing to stop for anything. I have a car fridge. Don't want to worry about ice. I'm thinking about getting the 3rd row windows limo tinted and using covers for the rest. Cooking wise, I have a electric griddle pan and Hot Logic. Might get a small burner just in case.
Dumb question from a newbie who also is looking at 3-5 day trips only: What type of fridge and how is it powered? I imagine I will tire of a cooler but I also didn't want to get into solar and all that for just 3 day trips. Any thoughts on this? Thanks!
@@usaman7358 No Worries. I have a 42 Quart Alpicool car fridge. I run it off a solar generator/battery. My battery was 1,500 Wh and it ran for 3 days during a test run, in 90+ degrees in the van. It even froze a couple of water bottles. I bought the extended warranty though as I've heard they sometimes will just die, same with the battery. I'm looking at a 2,000 Wh battery next to run mainly the fridge and other Electrical items like stove, kettle, etc... I have a smaller one for toys and backup.
@@usaman7358 Welcome. I've been watching a ton of videos and doing research so I know enough to do it now. Just wish I could share more but I'm not a RU-vidr so...

Thanks for watching! That kitchen actually, was built by my neighbors grandfather. When he died, it went to his grandson. When he had no more use for it, he gave it to his sister, my neighbor. She showed up on my doorstep with it one day, asking me if I could use it! It was like a blessing from heaven! And of course, you know what I said,” heck yes I can!”
