"I hope that if i found the strength to walk out, youd stay the hell out of my way," hits SO much harder with Alador than a lot of other fandoms ive seen use this.
I do love the Alador redemption arc not only because it works, but it's funny if you look at it in the scope of one day, he learns an awful truth, confronts his wife then divorced his wife, tried connecting with his daughter and then sacrificed himself, all of this in the span of one afternoon AND THEN THE WORLD ENDED!
I'd like to add on to this. He sacrificed himself *but only after already putting up way more of a fight than most, while effectively fighting one handed, let alone for far longer than most under the draining spell were shown to muster*. Him, Hunter, and Raine are among the only ones we see fighting through the effects of the draining spell with any degree of success, something even Eda struggled to pull off, and most struggled to even literally stand against. And he's fighting off waves of Abomitons one handed while actively dying. Let that sink in, an over worked broken spirited handicapped Alador managed to likely surpassed even his long since passed Bones burrow brawler days prime to claim his rank among the trained endurance against toture of the Golden Gaurd, and a witch that even Belos acknowledged as being annoyingly strong! Just... just how strong was this guy 20 years or so prior!?!
Odalia’s dance is BONECHILLING. The way her eyes are always open, the limp, lifeless poses of the puppets, the blank expressions in contrast with her forced firmness. It’s just. Wow.
This is such a stunning take on these characters. Not once did I ever think of Odalia's perspective when the Collector was in power. Especially with the implications that she would've had to "put away" or "tidy" everyone she grew up knowing, including her now ex-husband. And I just wonder, how she felt. Did she feel ANY remorse at all? Seemingly not. This is such a good dive into their stories, and amazing art too!!
Well, with the way that the show was handled and all, we didn't really have TIME to delve too deep into how Oddie really felt about all of this. Not to mention that 90% of the fandom basically hates her guts at this point and don't even CARE what she thinks. She's just another villan who wanted world domination. And is also anit-Lumity. The end. 🤷
@@awilli182Something I like a lot about the owl house is that it's almost always gives more time to the victims, it showcases how this abuse affected them and how they deal with it. Honestly I think focusing on people who abuse/abused, focusing on how their minds work and what not, not only does an disservice to the actual victims but also would disservice the owl house on a thematic level. So would I like there to be a bit more time on odalia's perspective, the awful person that she is, well yes, but only a bit. Also given the time constraints it's fine to leave that stuff to fan interpretation and also don't justify odalia's actions just because omg the fan base hate her, when hating her is literally the logical thing to do like seriously you don't want to unironically like a person like odalia and if you do that's your problem and you probably need therapy
@@wacky1210 A lot of the people's actions were because of Belos', a.k.a Phillip's, a.k.a. the person we were SUPPOSED to hate, chokehold that he's had on the Boiling Isles for hundreds of years! Especially Oddie's! What, you think everyone just woke up one morning and chose violence and was not at all shaped by the environment and circumstances?
Makes me wonder if Odalias treatment of Amity is because of how much she's like her father, in looks and skills. Who she clearly controls, so she controlled Amity too while trying to force her away from her father. Whereas the twins, looking more like her were given the free pass...
Such a powerful final image. The whole theme of relationships deteriorating over time-between Alador and Darius while Raine, Eda, and Lilith fell out-then Alador and Odalia, and Alador and his kids. All brought together perfectly, where Odalia can’t summon any love for her husband but still tries to play the part of loving wife because long ago, it was a part she didn’t have to act to play.
Oh, oh boy the feelings I got from this Most of what I want to say about how much I love this have turned into word soup, but that ending sequence when Odalia is dancing with a puppetised Alador is just. Chef's kiss, the FEELINGS I got from that. Really goes to show how their dynamic was the whole time, in such a literal representation. I'd consider most if not all the elements of this video to be canon. The storytelling here is flawless
This is so incredible! I love how you animated their expressions, especially with Alador looking at Darius and Darius glaring in return. Also I loved when he smashed that family photo and only Odalia's face should be seen from the smashed glass. And that last scene, of Mamadalia finding Puppet-Alador and dancing with him, surrounded by their friends and crying at how her life had ended up. Hits like a punch, amazing.
My god the amount of work put here is indescribably amazing! Its so smooth and amazing and the sheer emotions and in depth look at Alador is so impactful.
This is gorgeous, and shows us the behind the curtain struggle Alador was facing. The way he reacts to even seeing Odalia in that photo reminds me so much of my own trauma responses to seeing people who hurt me deeply in photos. I also like that you gave Odalia a little moment at the end to, well not shine, but to maybe speculate her feelings and what drove her to stop loving Alador, if she ever truly did. And since I ADORE this song, seeing it being tied to their story makes it make so much more sense.

Ok I was looking up this song for Moral Orel content, but instead I got Owl House content and I’m literally crying, like these are my two favorite shows, and you’ve combined them in an extremely well done animatic ahdkdnsj
Hooooly shit, you, YOU GET IT! YOU JUST..... AAAAARGH! This is so effing flawless, the animation, the themes, the song - the ending?!??! Holy shit dude! I love the Alador focus in fandom and you examined his character so well here. And Odalia too, which I did not expect. The ending shot of their lives, everyone being held up by strings... I CAN'T PUT IT INTO WORDS RN BUT THE SYMBOLISM!!!!! 😮😮😮😮 Just every frame of this is so well done and so well chosen, you really know the characters, the abuse and apathy, and yeah I just loved this okay!
It’s beautiful seeing the understanding of how harm comes in waves, generations passing it down, and how we cope with our choices. Compromising ourselves to survive and forgetting what we were fighting for. Seeing the regrets, joys and harm we cause each other. And the complications love adds, how you feel hatred as a mirror of the grief of love lost, of betrayal of trust. This was a beautiful character study and wonderfully animated.

AMAZING INCREDIBLE I LOVE IT. goddddd and i love how, like, yes odalia is absolutely terrible, but it's interesting dipping your toes into just what it must've been like for her when she was "free" and alador just a puppet. ohh this is just incredible... and animated too!! dang!!!
I like to think part of the song is from odalia bc its a song about a man being scared of changing so everything just stays in a really bad position because they don’t want to move on and like odalia was forcing alador to go along with these things (also moral orel is amazing)

If we had time for the show to play out the way that it should, we may have gotten a conclusion like this. Because what I like is that the actions of the characters are caused by their surroundings and the shared mindset. Because no one wakes up the way they are. Everyone has layers. But alas! The show is over. And no one wants to know anymore about Oddie then they already do. She was an abusive wife and mother and Al had every right ti break her off. But here, she look as though she was only doing what she felt was right by her now ex family and is now realizing that she threw it all away for nothing, making perhaps the worst mistake of her life. And if I had to guess, that's probably would have happened if we had time. I get the since that all the witches, even the ones that we're SUPPOSED to hate, aren't really bad people. They're flawed and make mistakes, but they aren't bad. I would have LOVED to see this on screen.... Why can't we have nice things?😢

Phenomenal. You actually made me feel bad about Odalia! Wish the show could have gone longer to flesh out even more character stories but with animatics like these I feel like the fandom holds the show with so much love and creativity that it lives on anyway. Great work! Love it!

Iike to think that what broke the marriage was alador being depressed that he didn't became the head of the abomination coven and lost to darius and started to ignore odalias feelings and odalia tried to keep their relationship together by thinking it as a contract just as how she does contract with her children as her desperate way to have the family function by overtime got used to it.

A part of me wished that in the end Odalia could have changed, or that she at least did love alador. I know not everyone can change and that her actions aren’t something that deserve forgiveness but I wanted to see if she even had a little remorse r sadness to the situation. Then again, some people just aren’t good people.
If we still had the same Odalia that we saw in Escaping Expulsion. Perhaps. But due to the show getting cut, anything that didn't have anything to do with getting Luz from point A to point B to point C? Trash. 🗑 We never really got to see how the whole Blight Family functioned as a whole and due to the more recent episodes, we just have to put 2 and 2 together and rule Oddie out as a narcissist tyrant. I'm probably one of all 3 people who aren't satisfied with that because there HAS to be more to it than that. After all, why would Alador have stayed with her for so long? And with everyone else having more depth in their character, why was Oddie the only one coming out like a Saturday morning cartoon villain? "I want to take over the world!!" Are you serious? 🙄

This is like my millionth time watching this and I need to ask something. Did anyone else notice that Darius has the most human expression/face out of all the puppets in the final scene? I love what it implies.
