After downloading some apps including nexflix, I get an error that says I need the google play store. Amazon disney and chrome work perfectly! Thank you
I have a Proform Pro C22 - This is the best guide ever. I had to play with the settings of the task bar app to get it to show in the left hand corner and even though the apps were open, I had to go into the app list and from there pin to recent. Outside of those 2 things, this work AMAZINGLY well. A recent update has prevented the method of PIN for the lock screen from working. THANK YOU FOR THIS!!!!! With Andriod being open source, I am hope the legality side of what ifit is doing here get some traction so that others don't have to go through this.
It's impossible for any updates to make this approach not work. The button is hard wired into in the hardware, and will always initiate a factory reset. We are installing our software before the system does an update and blocks the access level needed. So, as long as you have task bar installed and a browser before ifit updates, you are in.
Thank you very much for your informative video. My old treadmill died and I’m looking at a Nordic track. The company isn’t keen for anyone to install apps but I’m glad to see that there is a work around. 😊

Yeah. I got as far as taskbar and chrome working but most apps won’t work and google play service errors. Any help or apk version numbers appreciated. Looks like I didn’t pin android settings so after iFIT updates I can’t get back in to see what version of android it now is or back into downloads. Will try again but particularly for proform 9000 keen to know what versions of what apps work.
Great video. I would suggest that you also add information on the firmware/hardware/brainboard in your bike too. I purchased my bike in 2020 and it's running android 5.1.1. My next door neighbor bought the same bike two months later and his came out of the box with android 7.1. After spending several hours arguing with tech support about this, I was told there's no way to flash the later version of android on my bike because of slightly different hardware. The reason I'm posting this is that the android version you are running has a bearing on whether those APK apps will install and run. Netflix is a perfect example because it took me a while to find a version that would run correctly under android 5.1.1.
Hi! This worked for a few months but now when I am watching Netflix and doing rides, it takes me back to Ifit and shuts out the ride and my Ifit goes black and then logs me out of Ifit so I lose my ride. I've done all the updates, I'm not sure what else to do. Do you know how to fix?
The method to activate the privilege mode works. But as soon as you download any APK like RU-vid or Netflix the app won’t work. I get the massage saying “App wont run without googleplay services, which are not supported by your device.” Tried everything but nothing seems to work.
Great Work! I now have the ability to cast to my big TV again. You did not mention that the setting control can be accessed by touching the clock and then access the cast display menu. You need an older firestick to do Miracast since it is disabled in newer models.
Hi Richard, I am trying to set up casting to my big screen from my Bike and would like to try your "touching the clock" method. Question1 : When you access the cast display menu by touching the clock, were you in Privileged Mode or regular mode. (i.e Do I have tor do all the factory reset and taskbar steps before I am able to setup casting?) Question 2. Could you explain a little more about the "touching the clock" method. Thanks
When you have the taskbar app installed, just slide the taskbar out. On the far right hand side you'll see the clock. Tap that and a screen will pop down from the top. On that screen is the cast icon I was not able to get the device to cast to my tv though.
I’ve been following these steps on a ProForm Pro 5000 and when I open an APK app, my screen rotates and I don’t have anything in settings under accessibility to turn it off. Any suggestions? 🙏🏻
We need to boycott all iFit products until it enables us to use our machines to the greatest capacity. It needs to let us download apps and it needs to allow us to connect with Bluetooth. Until they do so, boycott all of their products and urge others to do so as well

I went through all of the steps to reset my elite treadmill and instead of getting the “settings privilege mode to true,” I got the original screen asking for the privilege mode code. This didn’t work for me. Any advice?
Worked great for the most part so thank you! I am able to access the pinned apps however, chrome won't stay open. It closes on its own after a few seconds of use. I also wasn't able to find an apk of RU-vid that would work after download. I tried 6 or so from pure apk. If you have work arounds for these issues I would owe you for life :) thanks!
I downloaded a RU-vid app from the amazon store. It works good But you can also open youtube from floating windows. That allows you to have it float overtop of everything. You can resize it as well so you can see part of the ifit app if you want
Follow up: After a few days it seems that any app I have open will start to close automatically and go to a black screen. I can launch it again but sometimes starts closing very quickly. I'm just guessing maybe it's iFit trying to load itself on top. But it never actually shows and if I try to open I fit when it does that it will never actually come up again. I will try and see if task manager might be able to help
Great video and very easy to follow, with full explanations. However, after a few days of this working well, I am unable to get any apps (Netflix, prime, chrome etc) to stay open, full screen for longer than a few seconds until iFit overrides them? Do you know why this might be and do you have a fix? TIA
I have a work around that will be coming out. It's still about a month away unfortunatly simply because I recently moved and have not setup my bike at the new house yet
Thanks for this. I got a new rower and followed your instructions. Everything worked great! However, I was unable to pin the apps onto the taskbar. As a result, once I updated Ifit, all was lost. ☹️
Even if you can't pin them, you should still be able to open the taskbar and run the app. If not, try my new video with access to the unlock code, and make sure the settings on the taskbar are correct

I went through these steps and installed the apps that I wanted. However, iFit app tends interrupt when watching something on Netflix etc. Also, the updates removed apps like ES Explorer from the task bar. I can try re-installing it since I still have Chrome. This is for the 2022 Nordictrack 1750 treadmill.

Great video and great tips on the taskbar. Thank you for sharing this. QQ: I have this same S22i model and my wife wanted the Peloton loaded. So I got into privileged mode by doing the pin hole hard factory reset, I was able to install Peloton and get it to work. I tired a couple of times to unplug the machine and it worked each time. After a couple of days I just plugged the machine back in, it loads to the Android screen and I initially put a passcode lock. Once I unlock with passcode, it launches iFit application and I can no longer swipe up to get back into the tablet mode, seems like privileged mode is turned off. Do I need to do another factory reset to get back into it? I didn't initially install the taskbar, but now I am thinking that's a good idea to do. Has anyone had this same issue, and is there a workaround besides factory reset? When I tap 10 times, wait 6-7 secs and tap 10 times again, I am prompted with the code and number to call. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
You will need to do everything again, but this time add that taskbar. Even if you lose privelidge mode you can still install from a different browser which is accessible through that taskbar app
@@GearsAndTech I just redid the factory reboot and installed the Task bar, Peloton and Chrome app. Everything seems to be working fine. Fingers crossed it stays that way.
Just wanted to give you an update. So after doing the factory reboot again, which was about a month ago, and installing taskbar, peloton, Chrome app, everything was working fine for about a week. Now when my wife plugs in the NordicTrack and it boots up, we see the taskbar, I launch peloton app and within about 5 seconds the screen flips back over to iFit screen. Tried it a couple of times and it just keeps flipping back to iFit. It won't stay on the Peloton app. Anyone else having same issue? Do you suggest any way to fix that? Thanks again!
@@sahilsoorma1469 it sounds like the Peloton app might need an update. If you listen to the end of the video he mentions how apps will stop working once they get an update. Because it was side loaded you won't get an automatic update for any app you install. You'll have to use the Google Chrome browser and search for Peloton APK and install the newest version. Upon completion of that install, your app should work fine after that. Good luck!
spent the last 60 min trying to do this -- intstructions are not very good - once installed .. the TASKBAR application is rendered in landscape mode ("on its side") -- then you say to do the "Launch on boot" setting but not sure where you set this -- and it is impossible to see the screen .... I guess I will try to find better instructions
So glad that the software is built upon Android. This all makes sense as I side-load apps on my Android phone occasionally. Now, question, if I am getting the bike new, then it would seem that I could start with the steps by not connecting to WiFi and not allowing for the update setup? Do the hack right out of the box and won't have to reset the device. Would this work? Also, it is the 2022 model. Will the hack void the warranty? Great video. Look forward to your response.

My Netflix won't load, requires a google play certified device. disney won't load it wants to update and tries to do so through the google app store. not sure what i am doing wrong everything else worked.

I installed the Taskbar APK and it works but I downloaded the apps (Netflix, Chrome, etc). and the files do not open after the download is complete. There is no Android icon. Any idea what to do? Thanks in advance!
I followed all the steps, but now my ifit updates so much. It keeps closing my app out and making me return to ifit. Do you know how to get that to stop?

@@GearsAndTech I ended up getting it doing that way :) was really tricky. The only issue I had was one I downloaded apk it turned the whole tablet portrait style and I could not get it back to landscape. Found another video where they said to download screen rotate control and that helped so I could turn it back. Definitely a long process. Still having some issues with Disney+ and Hulu but DID get Netflix. Thanks so much!!!!
Would the peloton app open as a window what I mean is, can you watch the app while the iFit numbers are in the background? I don't subscribe to iFit so I just go to the manual readings with the track overlay. It would be great to watch the peloton app over this so I could check on resistance and rpms. Thanks!
I got this privilege mode working on my girlfriend’s Nordictrack bike. She’s now asked me to put it back the way it was to begin with. Is that done under the “backup & reset” section from the settings menu? Does that put the iFIT software back to factory reset?
2 QUESTIONS- I HAVE THE NEW 1750 FOR 2022-FOLLOWED YOU AMAZING STEP BY STEP PROCESS. GOT ABOUT HALF OF THE APPS DOWNLOADED, AND THE TABLET PERFORMED AND AUTO ANDRIOD UP DATE ON ME AND LOCKED ME OUT OF PRIVLEDGE MODE. ALTHOUGH I CAN ACCESS THE APPS BECAUSE I FOLLOWED THE ORDER YOU SUGGESTED, I WASN'T DONE. THIS NEW VERSION DOESN'T HAVE A HARD RESET BUTTON ON THE CASING. SO SHOULD I JUST TRY TO UNLOCK THE PRIVLEDGE MODE AGAIN OR TRY AND FIND A WAY TO HARD RESET. -ALSO THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE A DOWNLOAD FOR NETFLIX THATS UP TO DATE ON THE STEP 5 SUPPORT SITE. MY DOWNLOAD SAYS IT UNSUPPORTED.
As long as you have a browser installed you can keep sideloading apps through there If you want priveledged mode back I do have another video with a code generator that will unlock it without resetting

And to add, seems like lots of folks here are having issues after successfully following all steps and then having iFit issues with it trying to take over the screen. No replies to those from you. I followed this video and was able to go into the privileged mode and install Netflix RU-vid etc on my S45i. After a long tiring set up, was all done and ready with all the apps running. The biggest drawback was the key did not work to start the treadmill and it did not start at all. Ended up doing a factory reset and then the key started working. So is this a new safety feature by the manufacturer or what? I don't understand.
I have a proform bike c22 , I got youtube and chrome to work just fine but disney, netflix and hbo all say they are not supported by device. Is there a way to fix this ?
i followed all the steps and downloaded the apps. but once i got to the part where I reopen iFit, it's just stuck in a black screen :/ edit: a pop up saying iFit isn't responding. do i just turn off and turn on the bike?
Hi there am still struggling, previously when I hit the reset button I mistakenly set it up on Wi-Fi, so I started again but now I can’t seem to get it into factory reset. I hold in the white button through the small opening but nothing happens. Can you help please?
Very helpful video, I’ve downloaded all the apps and they work fine. However, there is no taskbar showing despite downloading it. The taskbar icon is there & I enabled ‘launch on boot’. Is there something else I need to do for the taskbar to show up along the bottom?
Had this issue, you need to make sure the app has the correct permissions enabled. I can't remember how I got it to come up, exactly, but fiddling with the app will eventually pop up the permissions query. There were 2 or 3 separate instances where it asked for permissions.
Can you watch the peloton app as an overlay? What I mean by that is, if you don't subscribe to ifit, you get the track with your resistance and rpm. I was wondering if you can still have that as a backdrop, then have the peloton app over top of it, only smaller so you could still see the numbers and adjust them during the workout? To me, if you can't see the NordicTrack numbers, how can you bike and follow the instructor on peloton when he or she asks you to pick up the rpms, or increase the resistance when you don't know the numbers? @@GearsAndTech thank you for your reply. Well, the cadence is easy to figure out because it's with the rhythm of the music. But it sure would be difficult to figure out the resistance without an on-screen display
Didn't really work on my basic model. Can access RU-vid only via chrome and can't log in to avoid ads. Apps say they require play store but when installing play store it keeps crashing
I have a nordictrack exp 10i and some of the steps you used I didn't see on my unit. I didn't see a way to pin the apps to the task bar, after updating I have no access to my apps.
I reset but once I’m at No wifi connection I can’t get to any pull down menu. The option isn’t there on the left by pulling down or anyway. Any ideas ?
Was looking for the download robot..mine showed up in upper right corner..but you have to swipe down with finger to see it..it is were the setting menu is also on my pro form 9000 with 22in screen
