Stick at it Emma! Eventually it will all come to fruition!! Do you watch the “Charles Dowding” You tube videos? This guy is top notch when it comes to “No Dig” he’s been using this method for years and he also does it as a business! Plus he writes books and give lectures on this subject! Just a thought to help you on your way Emma! Good luck, 👍

Love this video! I also do no dog and it’s fantastic! Just a little reminder though, to remove all cello tape from the cardboard as it isn’t biodegradable and once the beds are mulched to cover them up, so the light doesn’t get in 🙌🏼 keep up that amazing work x

Well done on the fence and beds and strimming. I envy you having an allotment, I am too old to manage one now, but you motivate me to work on my garden veggie patch which I love.

Emma bless your cotton socks sweetheart , I would install out door cctv recording device & put up signs 🪧stay out cctv recording in progress ( makes a great deterrent ) , well done with the fence Emma this helps with people being able to see your plot layout ( n hopefully not to cross over from the path behind your shed ) Also I would like to add … look how far you have came as I have been with you from just before you built the shed best wishes Emma .

Your plot looks wonderful for Autumn, A weekly Vlog sounds great and anything you film is either funny or informative and not boring. The Fence looks good enough, Cheap and Cheerful, Please don’t take a fence. Farmers have rested their plots for thousands of years, Leaving it fallow to give the soil a rest . Five Star Tools like what you do and have made an worthwhile investment in you and I can see you are grateful. That Chainsaw would be good for getting branches for Beans next year, The Broken fork handle will make a great dibber for putting in bulbs and seedlings.

I've got a 3ft fence, too easy to step over, like you things disappear, so next year I'm going for a 4ft fence, and if that should fail I may have to rig it up to some electric fencing :)

Great idea to build a fence Emma and the portable chain saw is probably safer than a full sized one because of the weight of the full size chain saw there prone to kick back and fatal accidents are more likely to happen so I would use the portable one but not a full size one.

Re the broken forklet handle - congratulations! You've just got yourself a long handled dibber! 😎. Just tidy up the wood at the broken end to try and "round it off" if you see what I mean, then Bob's your mother's brother! 😃

Hi Emma ...your getting really handy with the tools now ..I remember you putting together your first bed and now look at your fence you must be well chuffed ..when I lay cardboard down to get rid of weeds I'll cover it with tarpoulin ' opened compost bags or anything to hand to help keep more light out ..it also creates more of a habitat for worms..p.s .the old handle of your 2 pronged fork would now make a good dibber
@myfrugalraggylife7104

Doesnt it make it more habitable for slugs and snails as well though ?
@christinerees50
@christinerees50 3 года назад
@@myfrugalraggylife7104 I've not found it much of a problem ..at this time of the year I find them more inside my compost bins or under large flower pots .I ran cardboard and weed control membrane down the middle of my polytunnel with no problem .

Sadly the fence won’t keep people out because thieves are A holes and will just walk over it or step on it. But it may help keep foxes and cats out. But good luck hope everything goes well. Thank you for sharing ✌️🇨🇦🐝 safe

great video, impressed with that saw, I would need that for my allottment. Any advice on this group how to make a strong fence on my allottment, I have in the past few years a pervert writing threatening stuff on my fence, I have a new garden but feel unsafe, police gave me a bag of rape alarms. You could not make this stuff up, dont tell you any of this on gardeners world. great video.

That fence is farr too short to keep people out, they can just step over it. It needs to be much higher, you needn't have cut the wood in half.

Hi I tried the cardboard compost idea unfortunately the cabbages planted were completely destroyed by slugs which hid under the cardboard, it was very wet which didn't help.
@craigorchard3866
@craigorchard3866 3 года назад
Good try but you can just step over chicken wire that won't keep people out it's not big enough Emma
@breakawayfromme

Sadly I feel whatever she does if someone wants to get in they will but at least this might make people think twice and it gives her a clear boundry to work from
@craigorchard3866
@craigorchard3866 3 года назад
Now what she should try is plant a Horthorn hedge or Holly bushes around the fence line yes they take time to grow but by god nobody will be climbing over that's a fact and will be great for wildlife also
