NO EDITING or WITH EDITING is better? (comment) Cucumber Time Lapse 

How do you like this no zooming/editing style? Better or worse?

I love how at the end it turns into the shape of a mushroom it's like the mold was doing a little self portrait!

I think it would be fun to play "Name That Food" where you run some of these backwards, and we can comment on what time we were able to guess what the rotting thing was. Could be a fun game. I would play.

The music as well.. is just so relaxing

I gotta say, I much prefer seeing it without the zooms and edits. It makes it easier to follow specific areas of the object rotting, which I find incredibly interesting, somehow

i like both editing styles! the way ur more edited videos highlight certain interesting parts is fun, but so is a simple time lapse. i think the simple style works best for small things that decompose fairly quickly, and the more edited style is good for things that get quite busy or take a long time

There’s merit in both. Keep on photo owling everything.

If possible, it would be great to have both. The main time lapse has the zoom and editing (more engaging, brings attention to parts the viewer may not notice), and then have a second run through (after the reverse) just be faster and without editing.

You know, for the really long ones that have a lot going on during the process, the editing is kind of helpful, actually. But for the more simple ones like this, the no edit style is good.

Both the zoom in/zoom out and the still image have its charm. The still image makes it easier to see the whole process but also a little more boring, while the zooming/moving around is more engaging. Maybe some middle ground can be found?

I would say with something like a cucumber, how it decomposes quickly, no editing is good. But for others that take longer, you kind want that zoom to show what’s happening. It’s hard to watch 3 minutes or more without zoom on an item that’s taking its time

Amazing video as always! 🙂 I keep thinking that the thread will be a source of issues, and that using a monofilament fishing line wiped down in alcohol would be better option (to minimize extra variables as much as possible), but seems that's not the case. As for zoom vs. no-zoom, wouldn't it be nice if RU-vid had different camera/angle/view options like some movies on DVD or Blu-Ray did? Then a single video would allow people to simply choose whichever view makes them happy.

I'm curious as to why the slice drifted up to the top of the frame. You moved the camera at one point to re-centre it. Was the thread shrinking and tightening as a result of evaporation? I've had entire cucumbers that didn't survive as long as this!

This is the first time i have noticed the different points of symmetry in a cucumber, it has a triangle middle but around the parameter it has 10 points of symmetry… curious 🧐
