Cake with no egg and no oven is exciting!
Follow the recipe step by step for a perfect cake. In this recipe to make wet ingredients, we cook the chopped dates in oil, sugar, water and cinnamon powder. Allow the mixture to cool completely before sifting maida or all purpose flour with baking soda. YES, we are only using baking soda in this recipe. Mix the ingredients using cut and fold method. If you find the batter a little too thick, you can add milk, which is in room temperature and bring it to the right consistency. The batter should be in a flowy consistency. Don't forget to grease the tin with butter and dust it with little maida and tap off the rest. Meanwhile, preheat a pan or pot on high flame for 5 mins, where your cake tin can be placed perfectly. Once the pot is hot, lower the flame to the lowest level and place the cake tin, on a stand, so that the cake tin is not in contact with the pot. Cover it tight. Check the cake after 45 mins by inserting a tooth pick. If the tooth pick comes out clean, put off the flame. If not, keep for another 10 or 15mins. Remove from pot and allow it the cake to cool completely and it comes out smoothly.
