I think he's just more interested in BJJ with respect to self defense and just isn't as interested in the sport aspect. In the sport you are matched up with athletes of the same size, obviously trained to elite physical conditioning and well rounded skills. I think he likes all the different physical size match ups and scenarios you find might find yourself in for self defense. I agree though I think his skills would translate.

I think Rener is too smart. No doubt he could do very well in the UFC but even the best fighters have a short run in the grand scheme of things. I think he's trying to build something that amounts to more than an mma belt that will only get taken by someone else eventually. His wits aren't limited to the mat, that's for sure.

Cole Calloway khabibs run hasnt been short... and i think Rener has trained someone i think who could be a hall of famer... in Ortega... he has the sickest bjj and when he gets hold of something its sleep or tap
