No Head? Mayones Hydra Elite 6 - Unboxing & 1st Impressions

A headless Hydra... I see ya Mayones!!! 🤣🤣🤣 The supplemental wood at the bottom of the guitar is for the player to comfortably put the guitar on the right leg while playing in a 'classical' position. So your leg doesn't detune the guitar. I'm looking forward for a headless, really light and comfortable guitar for my old days. I was thinking about Strandberg but the endure neck turns me off, and let's face it: Mayones gives us beautifulerer woods. PS: I still love and watch your show even if Mark Agnesi is saying that ALL guitar channels on RU-vid are boring.

The piece on the tail of the guitar is to rest against the right leg (if you are playing right handed) while paying when seated. Its a buffer for the tuning keys since they extend beyond the body of the guitar.

Also I love how high quality these videos are.

27:55 That's always so weird for me to see. I'm not a very good player, but I've been playing metal/death metal pretty much since I started playing 12 years ago. You're a MUCH better player than me, Henning, and many other people are. So it's always funny to me to see someone so much better that struggles with things like triplets and tremolo picking because those are basic 2nd nature type things to me, yet I'm a much lower level player overall lol. Great video as always!

this guitar is way more versatile than one would think..now dont get me wrong the nazgul and sentient pickups are awesome..but this guitar shines with fishman fluence pickups..absolutely a tone machine and you can actually go even further with this in that.if anybody noticed but they have added mass to the headless area in the form of the string lock system..it is a string lock and mass block at the same time..now that helps the balance of the guitar and gives it it's distinct clarity and punch..now i can get even more character and sustain from this guitar buy adding my fatfinger clamp on to the headstock block..i modded it and it fit's the dam thing perfectly..just slides right on and when i add the fat finger..i get a bit more bottom end and even more sustain(not that it doesnt sustain for days on it's own) and gives even more clarity on the highs and mids for even more variance in tones..bottom line..these guitars are some of best made..fit and finish and absolute play ability...great score you crazy guy you and not for nothing..mine made it all the way to alaska and sure as shit ..straight out of the case it was in tune and the action was absolutely amazing and i have yet to have to adjust the neck or action in any way..absolutely worth hording my weed money for..guitars come and go..i have owned hundreds in the 35 years i have been playing and there has only been one other guitar that i just knew from the first note i played that there was a soul in the guitar..the other one was a one of a kind custom from crimson guitars..amazing guitars as well..but the hydra is hard to put down..my wife still says i should have bought a car with the money..i say...fuck that!!! i see many hours of play time in your future my friend..play that baby like today is the last..you wont regret one second...be well

You always make me wish I had more money. Gorgeous guitar. If you want to hang it on the wall, you could try Woodies invisible guitar hangers (available at Thomann), that hold the guitar by the strap buttons :-)

The "opening" on the guitar that you were talking about at the beginning of your video, I would use it to loop my guitar cable through....that might be one use for it??? Then again, it can just be for to be different???.......also, what others have said, to help keep you from knocking out of tune...

WOW. That Mesa 4x12 impulse really made a HUGE difference and made it sound just that much more "proper". Probably the only place the OX disappoints.

To this day I don’t know why the nazgul/sentient gets so much hate. They have a ton of character and a good one at that. In terms of modern voiced pickups, I think they are some of the best.

For the Polish it's "mayonnaise". It's an expression, that means "totally great" or "amazing Wow"! But they write it that way: "majonez" instead od Mayones which sounds rather Spanish. Another thing: why do you want to change the strings? NYXLs are the best strings I ever tried since 36 years of playing.

The tuners on a kiesel headless are precise and smooth. I would say "the best" even compared to regular tuners.

Mayones was my first guitar. I am Polish, and during soviet era this was pretty much the only guitar you could buy at the time. Their guitars became better, much better. The guitar i had was rubbish. It was worse then chinese copy of a fender. And these copy guitars from china are pretty damn good. When it come to cables Polish cables are the best in the world.. I dont care what you people gonna say now. YOU DON'T HAVE SO GOOD CABLES ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD! They are so soft so great, they don't tangle, and they are 1000 times less noise then any cable you buy even if you pay 1000 bucks for them. Mayones cables are the best.
