I’m a lineless artist, and honestly, it’s really good to try just lineless! It lets you focus on values and and color. Makes things pop! Still, it’s not for everyone, but it’s good to practice! And I think you did really good!
Lol funny story, I used to be pretty bad at line art so I decided to become a line less artist, after a few years of doing no line art I decided to try doing it again and surprisingly I think I improved a lot :)
I love the idea of doing this, I just have to get more used to including the lasso in my process first. I am amazed at what you and others do with it but then forget to add it to my drawing routine 😅
oooooo I know that feeling SO well. I can get so majorly inspired by new knowledge, open a new canvas and immediately forget to implement the new stuff!
Yes, Nadia. That's called GROWTH. I know it all too well. It's like I hate myself getting good at something, so then I move on to another thing and try to get really good at that. For example, I have been using a brush pen, which requires a steady amount of pressure and control. Two things that couldn't be more opposite from one another. (smh) In other words, I had too much pressure when applying ink, and then lacked control over my lines (shaky hands, anyone?) yeah...but then I got it. I can add line weight while I am laying down a clean stroke! (after I broke one of my pens on accident lol) I also re-learned how to hold my pencil and started using my off-hand too. (I'm a lefty!) The new pencil method was forced on to me by my teacher who insisted that if I'm going to learn proper art, I need to have the skills that go with it. So now I hold the pencil like a sword! Gah! And it took me like a week to sharpen it with a razor blade lol. I felt like I was in the wilderness sharpening a spear. Drawing with my shoulder does help though. It taught me to relax while I draw. All in all. The struggle is important for artists to grow. We are always struggling, but in a good way. Thanks for another video! I value these pieces of advice and love your art style. Do I detect some Alessandro Barbucci influence in your style? Cause he definitely was an inspiration when I read Sky Dolls and Ekho. He's awesome.
I game to watch your videos after having LoZ on my mind knowing you like it and THIS is the first video I click on and I didn't actually expect Zelda 😂😂
Ahhhh this is so good! Drawing without lineart is... Well scary to say the least and you did such an excellent job! I love the mood you portrayed and your colours and shading is magnificent! Have a nice day ^^
I have no reason to buy digital brushes, but if I were working digitally. I would definitely buy some of yours! you did a wondeful creation of the Princess! Well Done!!
Me? I usually am trying to become a line-art-less artist. What I do is that one the sketch is done I DO make the Line-art. I lower the opacity and on different layers, I make different part of the avatar. Once the masking is done, I make two clipping masks one for highlights and one for shadows, and actually make them! I don’t make the eyes yet as my eyes sore always above everything, my style changed in the past few weeks you can say :P anyways, once I make the eyes, it is done! (I also hid the line art layer) Line-art-less art is amazing and looks more realistic! I personally love it! I know Lineart was not a part of the challenge but this is my trick ;P Also, I use Procreate and love Princess Zelda!
I made fan art of Mocca and while I was drawing her I FOUND OUT THAT HER DESIGN HAS ALOT OF DETSILS THAT MSKE MOCCA well Mocca she is an amazing character also you helped me start painting i used lineart but wanted to paint but when I watched the premiere and videos LIFE WAS EASY
jvknrjvbnrj did you upload the fanart so I can seeeeeeeeee? OwO I would loooove to!!!! Also every time I have to ddraw comics with Mocca I curse myself for including SOOO many details haha XDD Aaaaw and thank you, mate ♥♥♥
I feel like pretty drawings always have that weird ugly-duckling stage at some point hahaha. And aw, thanks for asking ♥ I was planning to order this as a print next time I order! ^^
Answer to the 1-st question in the video: No way! I think that my digital line art is terrible, so I'm skipping it altogether, or I'm making something EXTREMELY simple and sketchy, that I fill with flat color, and start working on the shape after that.
She helped me really figure out lineless art (im still not the best mind you), though I appreciate line art as well, it just doesn't pop like lineless art does.
OK so 1st of all u did a really good job (I'm also a huge fan of line art and removing it from my pictures would be a disaster 😂) but idk if it's just me, but I think the princess face turned out a bit weird.... Maby it's the shadow at her nose... - pls don't attack me this is not a hate!!! 😅
Well, think of it like this, whether you use lineart or not, the sketch isn't supposed to appear in your final drawing. Think of it like doing paper mache over a balloon. The balloon, your base, is the “sketch” and the paper mache, on top of the balloon, is your “Lineart” (Also, some people prefer slightly messy lineart over crisp, clean lines.) Basically, you see the paper mache ( lineart) as part of the peice, but you pop the balloon (hide your skech) once you're done with it. . Sorry if that didn't make sense, haha
